Unhappy wireless/router problam

this is the 3 time that my wireless/router has crashed

my dad has a router downstairs and i have a dongle up stairs but the router has not been sending out signals for a long time and i realy need to use the internet for lot's of stuff

BTW it's an (G 602.11g 54 Mbps)=wireless USB dongle

plz help me !?!

USB Dongles aren't the best, use a PCI Wireless card instead.

And check to see if there is any updated firmware for the said router to see if it helps to fix certain issues.

well the dongle has been working for a long time but started to play up

ill try to find some updated firmware thx

I have a D-Link too, I don't know what type tho. Have you recently plugged out any cables and put them back in ? Because the main internet cable can only be in one certain place. I think it's the fifth one... Not sure tho.

If you reconnect some cables, switch your router off for a while to flush the cache.

BTW, you can right click connection icon in systrm tray, choose Properties and press "Repair connection" button.

Wireless routers never worker perfectly for us. So we just got long wires that go from one room to another that connect the pc's to the router.
