Default Tomb Raider 8 scans: Additionally info revealed!

Nothing mind blowing, but it's confirmed CD are focusing on more puzzle-oriented gameplay, toying with a gravity aspect and are looking for God of War/Prince of Persia inspired storytelling.

Thanks for this one, TM.

It could help though if we know which magazine published this.

I don't like the bit where it's mentioned that Lara being an adrenaline junkie and high-octane orientation from Legend will be carried on in the next game...

I think it mostly implies to her outgoing determination to get through obstacles (the bike in Japan, destroying the TVs in Japan, shooting the truck driver in Peru, etc). Which I don't mind. I enjoyed the explosive elements on Lara's personality so I'm glad they're returning along with more puzzle elements and stronger storytelling. I don't think it will be a perfect return to classic Tomb Raiding but CD is looking to hopefully finish up the Legend storyline and I'd hate to see the conclusion suffer by them doing something unlike before. So, if they can establish an exciting, explosive, story driven TR game with more puzzle elements like Anniversary along with new gameplay mechanics, I'll be a happy camper.

TR9 can maybe start a new story so then CD will be less restrained and can hopefully reevaluate their take on the series.

Well, if that's the case, then perhaps that's okay. Nothing too gimmicky though. The bit about puzzles playing a bigger part is enough compensation.

Seems more like speculation about what the next game will be than actual news. But thanks anyway TrojanMan, speculation is better than nothing.

The gravity bit was probably a rumour that Avalon might have a few similarities with Tomb Raider 2's floating Islands. We will have to wait and see for ourselves.
