I'm no expert at this, but I'm pretty sure 720p is better, though 1080p is ideal. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, for gaming it's 1080i imo. When I play tekken on my lcd it lags in 720p but not in 1080i. But say if you're looking at a still image then 720p looks more detailed imo
But of course it's all about 1080p |

720P is 720 vertical lines in a progressive mode. This means the image is displayed in its entirety as apposed to 1080i which has a higher resolution of 1080 vertical lines but uses an interlaced image. In terms of quality, 1080i will provide a higher resolution and sharpness than 720, however, 720P will allow a smoother video which would be best for fast action (sports for example). Usually it's best to have your TV set for 1080i if it supports the mode.
Progressive: Each image is displayed completely. Interlaced: The image is split into lines and then "laced" back to form an image. Progressive is the same concept as a film motion picture camera. The entire image is caught and displayed one at a time instead of split up and re-assembled. Last edited by Mr.Burns; 14-05-08 at 18:32. |

1080i would be your best bet. Of course you could always try both settings and see which one works best for you. I've seen people who prefer one setting to another. I usually keep it on 1080i.
