Exclamation Tomb Raider 2 Gold Challenge - Stats

And here we go

Rules:
1. Everyone is to post final stats screenshot for every level (if you go no-scratch, post life bar also).
2. Let's limit screenshot size to reasonable 640x480 or even less - make it big enough to see the stats. Limit your stats posting to 1 post please, simply edit it, but better post a link to it in your further posts.
3. We prefer not to set ending limitation, so just try to keep running along with others. Come and check people's progress. So generally no ending limitation. If one wants to join us during the run - welcome!

Generic limitations: (obligatory for all participants)
1. No medipacks (or as few as possible).
2. All secrets and all (as much as possible) pickups.

Current participants list:

Those are submitted by PM. If you see you're missing, PM me or post here...
The table is to be edited and extended...

Good luck, folks

I'll be reserving this post for my stats also, hehe Slinc.

I won't be able to start until Saturday because of going out to see friends.

I just started earlier today, but haven't gotten very far into the level yet. Can't wait to reach Furnace of the Gods - I think I'll probably forget all about the challenge and run off to take screenshots instead. Oh, that gorgeous river of gold!

I'm going to post spreadsheets of all the pickups by level in a day or two, one from Stella's walkthroughs and one from the Tomb Raiders Traveler's Guide. They differ in 8 or 10 places.

Here's an early version of pickups spreadsheets.

The two sources differ at the gold-colored cells. Each level shows total pickups by item at the end of the level. Ammo is shown as rounds, except for grenades, which are number of pickups, so far. In the notes below, a "set" is one pickup. The number of rounds in the weapon when it's picked up are also shown. So I could have calculated rounds for Vegas, but it's just as well I didn't, since item totals should not include the Vegas pickups. I'll correct these when I update other things.

I hope to resolve some of these differences.

Cold War: the bad news is that the drop into the pit with the Uzis takes all but a few percent of health, so unless you skip 3 pickups, including the Uzis, you have to play pretty much No Scratch. I was trying Pistols Only, so I have to back up to the two guys before the zip line.

I tried dive bugs into the pit, but nothing so far.

Couldn't make a dive bug into the pit work, so played no-scratch otherwise; not hard with use of M-16 et al. If you jump vertically from behind cover, the enemies never target you.

The TR Traveler's Guide says that if you run down an enemy with a snowmobile, it doesn't add to your kill count.

Yippee!! Snowmobile fights again!

The gold bars are a focus for the unusual for some reason. They are protected by three Dobermans, however:

1. In the first room of the level, perform an arch bug at the corner of the doorway to the room with the large med-pack. Lara bugs to the gold bar area, but no dogs are present. Take the bars and use a safety-drop bug to descend part way with no damage.

2. Later, you pass three windows that allow you to see the gold bars area. Only one dog is on patrol. If you jam a snowmobile into the center window, soon the lone Dobie passes close to the window, yelps, and dies. Contact with an occupied snowmobile is fatal, whether it's moving or not. Apparently this effect can be felt through a window. When you go to actually get the bars, only 2 dogs appear.

3. The snowmobile helps another way to get the gold bars. Drive a snowmobile to the metal wall below the switch that releases the 3 dogs. Park it pointing at the wall. When you throw the switch, run back to the snowmobile and mount. The dogs obligingly hang around to be mown down by the snowmobile guns.

For the easiest dive bug I've ever seen, pick up the m16 clips and walk to the edge.

Then hop back, and do a running swan dive. Any jump that lands at the center square of the 3-square-wide column ahead will cause her to bug to her feet (except dead straight on).

KINGDOM

I ran from my E drive (my D drive is sick). Is that why I got no final stats for Kingdom?

I finished with 37 small and 23 large med-packs. I did this level no-scratch and pistols only without too much trouble.

Stella's walkthrough misses 2 sets of grenades. Kill the Inuit warrior near the small med-pack; but I preferred to do the large room with the crossing of gold paths first, so the 3 warriors don't fight me.

It's tough to get the pickups in the Guardian's palace, but there's an easy way: Do an arch bug near the end of the level:

Lara bugs into the eye of the giant mask and can jump to the walkway:

Thunderfoot isn't around so it's easy to get the two pickups. But note his footprints in solid rock!

BTW, it does no good to pull the switch at this point.

I'm done.

I tried doing this level pistols-only and no-scratch. I achieved the former, even though it took about a dozen tries to get two shooters at once in Cell Block Rock (they followed me from near the sculpture). I gave up on no-scratch when I couldn't find a way off the ledge with glass shards without damage. But that was the only damage I took until the Big Bad Bird beat me up a lot near the end.

After getting the last pickups at the top of the elevator shaft, I found it easier to go back down the shaft's ladder and backflip to near the elevator call button. This way you don't have to cross the open hallway.

This was my inventory after all pickups.

Nothing was used in the level but about 3 flares.

Here's my stats just after all pickups, at the top of the elevator shaft:

But as you can see, apparently Lara went 0.30 km. backwards during the rest of the level!! Huh?
