How do you update you PS3? - Page 2

someone broke into my house in may last year took ps3 and 1 game which was my newly bought tomb raider anniversary im lucky it was a short game and i just completed it well almost had one more time trial to do which was annoying because i was so close

soon as an update is available,when you turn on your PS3 it will inform you.

you then go to system update on the XMB, and download

we got 2.42 today,doesn't do much though

just look outside to see what the weather is like

Well I wouldn't use it for here I could use it to check the weather in AZ. Plus it was supposed to come out yesterday or the day before yesterday

well at least according to the ps forums. And it's just cool to have.

It is safest to update through pc as some peoples ps3 have crash whilst downloading an update which bricks the system (2.40 did it to some) i personally have never had a problem downloading straight to ps3.

While the PS3 is downloading the firmware, am I able to play any game, or do another thing?? How does it work??

Nope, nope, and you just watch it download. It goes by pretty quickly.

So, I download it... then after it's finished, the setup starts, and I can see the progress... is that it??
