Smile Wii internet questions

I have had my Wii for awhile now but I haven't gotten onto the internet with it yet because I don't have Wi-Fi. I've been looking into it and I found a Wii LAN adapter from Datel.

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/Prod...uct%5FID=64360

Does anyone know if this thing is any good?

Also, I was wondering if Wii games had demos available for download like PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. I can't seem to find a clear answer on that either. Thanks in advance

Read other people's experiences with the Lan adapter in the reviews here:

Just scroll down. Seems to work fine.

About the Demos, there aren't really any playable ones you can download for Wii, but there is a Nintendo Channel you can download which keeps you up to date on Nintendo's latest offerings, with previews and trailers etc. You can also download playable Nintendo DS demos from there.

You can use ds download play to play demos downloaded from the wii, but you can't keep them (unless you keep your ds on forever)

Thank you both The adapter reviews are very favorable, but I don't have a DS, so I think I will hold off buying the adapter until I get some multi-player Wii games that can use the internet.

My wii just connects to my hub without need of an adapter, how old is your wii? if it is newish you should be able to use it on its own, their is a feature called virtual console that allows you to download (at a price!) games that were origionaly only for an older console like Super Mario Bros was to the NES. Also their is wiiware which are games created only for download (At a price!) on the wii, games like Lost Winds and Dr mario Germ buster, hope you can make your mind up about the wii online service!

Thanks I got my Wii in April, so it's a few months old. I don't see any holes where I could plug in an ethernet cable. I just have a few USB slots on the back, plus where the power supply, AV cables, sim card, and GC controller/memory cards plug in.

I have a Lan Adapter

it works perfectyl fine, altho if you're using a router for internet. Make sure you're not too far away.

I've tried the Wi-Fi adapater too, but it requires your PC to be on, since it's via USB...

If you haven't got wireless internet in your house (or don't want your Wii on wireless) then you need an adapter. I've got one and I've never had a single problem with it. It was also surprisingly easy to set up. I think it's sodding cheeky that you have to buy an adapter to get it online, but I've found it to be worth it.
