Are there anyone else doing self-defence things? Like karate, tae kwon doo etc. I do karate and I got yellow belt today.

I used to do Aikido. Actually, by "used to" I mean that I tried it out for two days then gave it up.

Hi Everyone,

I always wanted to do Aikido - I liked what I heard about the philosophy!

Never got around to it - somehow I never seemed be able to get out of the pub!

'Self-defense' does hiding count?

If there's a sofa involved!

I quit Aikido for 2 reasons: I just couldn't get into it, and there were too many people way younger than me. There were only two other teenagers. If I could get a decent class, one that used the sword things, I would probably enjoy it more.

I did judo for 2 years, got the orange belt... quit because we moved abroad for a year. When I came back I had forgotten everything and decided not to continue

Black-belt karate...

I was going to do Aikido, but instead chose Jujitsu and Kenjutsu, then quit last year as soon as I recieved my first degree (Shodan). Aikido's body techniques is derived from Jujitsu and Ken.

Also, I didnt take Aikido because everyone else was taking it, and I wanted to do something different....
