Default What happened to Eidos's OTHER franchises?

Like

These all are pretty popular and they haven't had a sequel in years.
Eidos really doesn't need a new Tomb Raider every year to make money, these games are popular on their own.

There's a Hitman 5 and Deus Ex 3 in development. There's been hints of a new Legacy of Kain game as well.

Hopefully some more info on them will pop up sometime soon .

Thief is still my all-time favorite game. Thief II was also fantastic, but I despised Deadly Shadows.

They should never play around with successful formula's...but many companies make the mistake of "always trying to make it better". Sometimes (read most times) this process results in changes that divide or turn off a fan base. The problem is deep and many faceted. On one side you have the corporate designers need to justify your job, that is to come up with new ideas, concepts, controls, movements, etc, or else you are not worth keeping around. On another side you have the reviewers who are not able to appreciate a game for maintaining its style, to them it would be unacceptable and quite negative. So in reality many things are conspiring against any game series produced, and really provide a barrier to a continuing successful series. So much needs to go right for the series to live through changes and survive the scrutiny that will follow.

I'd love to see a new Legacy of Kain, or even a new Gex! But Eidos pin all their hopes on Lara Croft...

Aw, I loved Gex. It's a shame they haven't made another one.

If the new member claiming to have been one of the 30 fired from Crystal is to be believed, there is nothing currently planned for the future of the LOK series.

It's an if though, because their claims can't exactly be proved.

That would be a dream come true if they made that, hell, just call it 'Pandemonium' so they can market it as an original title.

His IP address matches that spammer's

He could be right, though, about the lack of money it would make.
