Smile Explore more possibilities with the Adrenaline Meter.

In Tomb Raider Underworld we were given a new adrenaline meter which can be used to make adrenaline headshots or slow down time in either dangerous situations or during regular combat.

Which is good, however I think that activating the adrenaline meter during regular combat was pretty useless, I actually never used it.

I think that the improved adrenaline meter:

-Should be activated anytime during gameplay and not only during combat. (Slow motion acrobatics!!! )
-When activated during combat, should introduce new abilities for Lara such as Aerial Assault which was included in Tomb Raider Legend. I missed that.
-Gives Lara the ability to swan dive and shoot during combat which was supposed to be included in TR:U but hopefully now be included in TR9.
-Should fill up slower so that the adrenaline headshots won't be "abused" all the time, thus making combat a bit (if not a lot) harder.
-When activated during combat, should give weapons a little attack boost, but just a little.

-Since adrenaline, which is supposed to give extra strength to our bodies in certain situations, maybe they should make Lara's melee moves a bit stronger when it is activated.
(Make Lara's combat moves similar as the doppelganger's, but slower and weaker, of course )

Okay, that's all my suggestions. Looks stupid, right?

I'd rather we not have it at all. Just give Lara a bunch of acrobatic and combat abilities that we can use when and where we want.

I like the idea of stronger attack power and better defensive moves during an "adrenaline phase" but I think they should drop the "slow down time" gimmick. It's a annoying and imo it hinders the flow of gameplay when Lara frequently switches between normal time and slow time.

Agreed. Faster moves and stronger punches .Fill the 'power' when doing something, sounds cool.

Why not make the adrenaline meter similar to the shadow power meter? When it's full, Lara can do more than just fight better. She can jump farther, higher, etc.

I like the adrenaline meter. I even like the slow mo. I've always loved combat in Tomb Raider because it was about Lara looking cool.

Like Lara didn't jump insanely in the old games? Tomb Raider Myopia strikes again.

It was fun stuff when used properly.

I'm not sure why some people think it was useless. A powerup phase is standard combat for many 3rd person games. I'll allow combat needs some work, but I don't understand the resistance to this unless it's merely a bad idea because CORE didn't put it in a game first.

I mean, I can remember establishing a jumping pattern for fighting Puna. Two left, one back two right jump forward . . . . The idea that "jumping around" is a bad idea for Tomb Raider, that ship sailed long ago, my friends. It's a bit late to say it's a bad idea now.
