I guess the developers realized that they needed to balance out the heavy female-to-male ratio so they threw in the epiphany of manliness that is Akihiko. Oh Akihiko.

I need help!

So I just read this article comparing Persona 3 to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is my favorite show ever. I've been wanting to try out other JRPGs and I just found out Persona 3 is on the PSN for $9.99.

I know absolutely nothing about the game or series. Don't want to read the thread in case of spoilers, but is it worth it? Is the game even good? And is the story standalone or a sequel to the first two?

The story is standalone. It is worth it. While you're at it, check Persona 4 as well, it's got 10/10 in some reviews.

If you're curious about the gameplay, check a few youtube videos to have some idea what it looks like.

The story is their strong point in the series, and I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it.
