My system doesn't meet the minimum requirements to install the driver.
I'm starting to think the problem might be that I have a 64bit version, instead of 32.

and you were right, windows 7 works much better but it works better with the latest machines, it won't give you any advantages with those specs. when you buy a new machine you'll get it with 7. we're all on budget now but if you decide to buy a new machine do it in mid 2010 or even later and btw windows 7 sp1 comes then. atm there is nothing exciting on the market so don't be sad about that.
