The title says it all really - I'm having problems with the Windows Live installer rolling back every time I get to about 75% installation. Having done a bit of research, I've narrowed my problem down to the solution described on this page. However, I can't get the troubleshooting method to work for me - largely, I suspect, because I don't know what my SQL server version is, or even how to find it out. Can anyone talk me through this whole method in a bit more detail? I'm having a nervous meltdown here lol

What, for God's sake, WLM has to do with SQL server installation...
Please elaborate: post the exact error message WLM installation returns, run Diagnose.exe and post the report here.

Ok, sorry - I rushed into the explanation here. Basically, I get the same error code as in this thread when the installation fails, and I linked to the page that suggests the fix for the error. It appears to have something to do with the SQL server. My exact error code is:

1. Disable DEP and Windows Firewall (as you have Zone Alarm).
2. Stop your antivirus protection for the installation procedure. 3. Run WLM setup as Administrator. 4. After installation is complete, ensure Zone Alarm and your antivirus are not blocking it from connecting. If still any errors, consider killing those processes prior to installation attempt: AAWService.exe 1832 Console 0 1,356 K PnkBstrA.exe 1320 Console 0 248 K wbload.exe 2052 Console 0 728 K razerhid.exe 3832 Console 0 872 K AAWTray.exe 4004 Console 0 328 K razerofa.exe 2428 Console 0 340 K ObjectDock.exe 4020 Console 0 4,736 K firefox.exe 3000 Console 0 77,640 K msnmsgr.exe 2188 Console 0 35,428 K SeaPort.exe 1768 Console 0 8,320 K
