What I expect from a trailer of this kind is to not give fuel to negative stereotypes seeing as it's clearly meant to evoke a positive response. I don't have enough factual knowledge about the state of American education system to say how wrong (or right) it is, but I hear jokes and comments about the state of American knowledge about the world all the time, and Ubi's unwitting contribution to it came off as very unprofessional.

As for the rest of the promo campaign, yeah, I don't like it at all. It's not about the fact that it's the Revolutionary War from an American perspective, it's about the fact that this is an ASSASSIN'S CREED game about the Revolutionary War from an American perspective. They have never done anything like this before, and I would be unhappy regardless of whose nation's flag I was forced to wave. Add to it the fact that Ubisoft keeps arrogantly claiming that it's not all about killing bad Brits right before they show a trailer that features nothing but killing Brits, and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Umm, I think not. I mean "excusons-nous" means we ask ourselves to forgive, while "excusez-nous" means we ask you to forgive us. Might not be correct.

I agree with every bit of this, especially the bolded parts.

The creative director, Alex Hutchinson, said something on the matter of killing Brits on an interview with IGN:

Well I do hope he's telling the truth and it's the current campaign that is misleading.

Honestly, they'd make themselves look better by just admitting that they favor the American side, rather than saying things like "Well, all of the people are British!" Come on dude, you know exactly what we mean when we say Americans and Brits.

I don't know why he's dodging the question. Why would "Yes, you only kill Brits" be such an antagonistic answer that he's trying to avoid it?
The amount of Russians killed in games is most certainly higher than the Russian population, yet I see no one bothered by that.

Exactly. And as a Brit, I really don't care whether you're killing Brits. I care that this game looks way too patriotic and picking a side when it's about Assassins vs. Templars and the fact that Conor wouldn't pick a side because both are as bad as each other. This is what I don't think is getting through Ubisoft's head.
