Hi,
long time no posting. I just needed to say this. <inMyHumbleOpinion> Personally I don't like horror movies/comics/games or whatever. Let alone survival horrors. I liked TR because of that adventure and exploration feeling through the game, the many travels Lara does and the many, different, colorful, beautiful places she visits. Now, it's true that we still don't know enough about this new game, but I just hope it doesn't turn the game I liked in something else, i.e. a resident evil clone, where: - the house (re1) is replaced by an island (the only place you'll see in the game) - many different places, many different colors, many different discoveries are replaced by one place/one color (dark grey)/no tomb_to_raid - the protagonists are replaced by 12-yr old looking people with strange hair (ff series) - anyone else is replaced by ugly bad monsters. so all you'll have to do is fight and run. Please, tell me it won't be like this. </inMyHumbleOpinion> Last edited by pixelShader; 06-12-10 at 13:45. |

Survival and Survial Horror are two completely different things, the only thing that has been officially confirmed is 'survival' not survival horror. Look at lost planet by capcom, that was a survival game.

I hope you're right, but the monsters old concept art worried me.

Tomb Raider already had some survival horror elements so building on them would be pretty natural, although I agree that going too far towards them could easily be a bad idea, and variety/colour that you mentioned is one thing I'm especially wondering about (hopefully the actual article will confirm that isn't the case).

The older Tomb Raider games had a lot of Horror elements in them at times - the monsters in Antarctica and the flickering lights in TR3 for example - but were never Survival Horror games. I expect this one to be similar in that regard - horror elements but not a Horror game.

I'm afraid TR reboot will take the way of startrek reboot, ruining everything.
Startrek rapidly became more like a "teen comedy" with elements of "chuck norris vs. steven seagal"... from "explore strange, new worlds" to "aggressive, young men fighting for the female"

FF isn't a survival horror unless you really hate it
