Theme: A Survivor is Born
Lara Croft is a young woman straight out of University and setting out to make a name for herself. Your role as the writer is to guide us through your vision of Lara's first adventure into archaeology, exploration, and tomb raiding. You need not stick to what we already know of Tomb Raider 2012; feel free to create your own, original adventure.

Rules:

Word Limit: 500 to 5000 words. (I figure this theme might give for imaginative expansion, thus allowing for longer entries)
Use proper spelling and grammar.
Leave a break between paragraphs when posting your entry.
Your entry must incorporate the aforementioned theme.
Your entry must be original, of your own work, and written for this competition.
One official entry per person. If you magically pen out a second, feel free to share it, but please indicate clearly which entry you're submitting to be read and voted upon.
Every entry must be posted before the deadline in order to be counted as valid.
Participants must vote in order to have their entry remain valid.
The winner of this competition is to host the next. If they're unable to or would like to pass the privilege to another, the next runner up may have it.

The last competition was only 10 days. I think two weeks (14 days) is a good timeframe.

The last competition actual ran from 5 July to 14 August (originally the 5th if I remember correctly). Two weeks is too short imo

However I like the theme. I hope to come up with something.

Oh that was my mistake; I took 4/7/11 as August, not realizing August is the 8th month.

All right, seeing as people think it's too short, I'll extend it.

But I'm afraid you perhaps misinterpreted the theme.

Your story was meant to guide us through Lara's first adventure.
It seems to me you wrote an introduction to Tomb Raider.
