This is sort of an off-shoot of the "would you choose for your children to be gay?" thread.
Assuming "healthy" is a given characteristic of your child, would you choose other characteristics if you could? Would you choose their hair color? Their temperament? Their intelligence?

No, I wouldn't. Like you said, as long as the child is healthy, that's all that should matter.

Well, given a choice, and I could turn back time, my son wouldn't have special needs and would never have had epilepsy as a child, so in that respect, yes. However, those things make him what he is today and he's turning out all right and I wouldn't want him any other way.
In my dream world I'd have a red headed daughter who loves dolls as much as me (I had to fain interest in cars with my son). in reality and ultimately, I'd say no to choosing anything if it were possible, as a child's health and well being is more important than anything else. So as a choice, good health is the only thing I'd wish for.

I'd hope that they would be intelligent and able to decide for themselves what they believe is right. I want them to be spiritual like me, but I'd rather them learn how do that out of their own free will, rather than having it fed to them.
However my kids turn out, I will have to broaden my horizons and accept them as another life lesson.

Aren't their ways of choosing your child's characteristics before birth? I read it in an article somewhere...

I'd want for them to be intelligent and independant and not to end up with really pale skin like me. I suffered so much with it at school and would hate for my child to suffer to.

My opinion is the same as these two quotes from the other similar thread that we already have..
I agree with these & they sum up my thoughts about this subject. Quote:
