We also can choose not to wait... But that doesn't mean we won't buy the game when it's out. If anything, such a long marketing campaign can be very damaging.

Just because someone misunderstood when the game is coming out is no reason to think Crystal Dynamics lied about when they are going to release the game. They are making it, they should know, and they are still saying 2012. So the so called reliable source probably got it wrong, I would rather believe the people making the game, than some stranger who does not even give a name.
