I recently got given a mountain bike (one of my dad's work colleagues) and decided that cycling was my new favorite thing. At first I'd go out on it once or twice a week just to burn off some calories (and caaake). My boyfriend bought a bike last week and since then we've gone from Birmingham to West Bromwich (which took about 2 hours) and back again, in the same day it has to be said.
My legs were aching, wobbly and I was quite butt-hurt (literally) Overall I'm really enjoying my new bike and the exercise it provides, I'm still a little apprehensive about travelling on the road so right now I'm doing the naughty thing and alternating between road and pavement. I think the one thing that really needs to be bought is a gel seat because god DAMN that seat is uncomfortable. Does anybody else cycle?

When the hell did this subforum pop up? O.o
And I cycle a lot. Not mountain, but very, very far.

I used to love cycling when I was a kid. I can't be bothered any more though, it's too much effort and it's crap when you're on your own

What sort of bike do you have NRO? And do your legs get really muscular, because I already find it hard to get my calves into skinnies. My leg is mostly calf muscle apparently
![]() Spong, you need a bike-buddy! I get scared that if I fall off and break a leg and there's nobody around I'll just die

Taking your life in your own hands and cycling on the roads is something that doesn't bother me, or it didn't when I used to be out & about. I can't deny that cruising the back-lanes and the countryside around my town on a sunny day used to be really enjoyable. But it was always with friends, alas it just doesn't have the same appeal if you're on your own.

Funnily enough, my father and my brothers all like cycling to some degree. I, however, don't. I think I'm the black sheep of the family...

I haven't rode a bike in years. :/
I would like to start again, though. My family and I used to go cycle on a bike trail near our home, stop by a park, and just either relax or ride some more. *Deep sigh* Does it take long to remember how to ride a bike? Embarassing question, I know.

Haven't you ever heard the expression 'it's like riding a bike'?
In other words when you get on one it all comes back to you. I used to love riding my bike.

I hadn't rode a bike for well over 10 years until just recently. I was a little wobbly at first, but picked it back up pretty quickly. No need to worry =3
