Arrow Von Croy Industries: Behind Closed Doors



IT'S OUT!!

Story: If you have played Escape with the Iris, perhaps you, like me, were fascinated by what lay behind those unopenable textured doors in the VCI building. In this level, Lara takes an alternate path through the tower to explore those unknown sections. This story takes place after Lara has obtained the Hand of Rathmore. She learns of strange activity in the industrial tower belonging to her old nemesis, Werner Von Croy. Apparently, he has been harnessing the infinite power of the meteorite for unknown, yet undoubtedly sinister purposes, and Lara must stop him - and add another trinket to her collection in the process.

Background: This is my first 'real' level (the first was pretty much a hot mess). The idea for this project actually started as an extension to Escape with the Iris, but by now there are very few areas from that level. It's built with the TR3 engine, because idk. There's nostalgia with lasers, elevator shafts, guards, machines, robots, gun turrets and some surprises too. The objective is to turn off the large magnetic field around the artifact, so Lara can teleport it to a safe location and make it her own.

I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed building it (when it's released that is). It doesn't have any fancy HD textures or super hi poly objects or Po Yu or anything, but I still think you might find it a fun raid.

What doors remained a mystery

Anyway good level it's so great can't wait to play it we need more TR3 levels but TR5 are the ones that need to be revived

The ones that were simply textured If you've played the level, they've used the door texture in many dead ends, this level created the parts of the tower behind those doors 'opening' them kinda.

Yes, we definitely need more TR3 levels I think it's redundant to make TR5 levels though because almost everything in TR5 can be replicated with TRNG if I'm not mistaken. Well at least TR3 has the ring menu (not a deal breaker ever, but it's something, lol.)

In my opinion, the VCI section is a really good one. I would wish it could be bigger in TRC... So, good luck !
Are you going to use TRNG or TRLE on this?

It is looking good to far. Unfortunately, the enemies of the TR4 engine are not programmed to do those VCI stuff

Major update! Geometry, triggers, item placement and texturing is pretty much finished, objects and lighting is about 60%. Reached the items limit (256 items) and thank god I'm almost done. I've got TheBloodRed and GameGlitcher77 beta testing for me right now (thank you so much), but I could use maybe a couple more testers for the next beta, so let me know if you're interested.

The boss fight will be with a robot, but because I suck at making original objects, my robot's head is currently looking like this:

Also since I'm using a prehistoric engine I don't get the stuff all the cool kids use (meta2TR), and I have to use a hipster alternative (RView) which makes texturing a bitch, but I've managed to create round pipes which I think look pretty decent (that's room geometry, not statics or w/e)



The boss fight will be conducted in this cylindrical area with a spiral staircase in the middle, and our heroine's trusty helicopter comes to take her away (once she gets the artifact, of course.)



I've made some custom objects here, one of them being a malfunctioning VCI door like the one in Red Alert, except this one kills Lara if she walks through it as it closes.



Other areas I want to show off. None of them show any breathtaking geometry (it's a VCI level, c'mon don't expect much in terms of architecture) but I just thought they looked pretty.
