Default King Tut's Summer Home

If all goes well (it should), this will be my debut level.
I started this in early March and only accelerated development in mid-April once I was sure this project was something I would keep doing.

It's a simple Excuse Plot:

Lara searches an abandoned Egyptian cliffside beach town/ruin for a hidden summer home attributed to King Tut to find treasures in the year 2000.

*Note: about the progress percentage: 0% - 79% is Development, 80% - 85% is Alpha, 86% - 95% is Beta, 96% - 99% is Post (final readme edit, screenshots, etc.), 100% means uploaded or ready for upload

Level 1: King Tut's Summer Home - 84%
ALPHA TESTING IN PROGRESS!!!

There are 2 gimmicks with this debut level.
First, it will use only the original WAD sets from the 2000 TRLE Installation (with revised animations from the revised WADs) (also, use of TRNG scripting).
Second, it will be available as a prj file with all the goodies: tga, WAD set, etc.
You will be able to see exactly how I built the level included in the package.
Kind of like tut1 and the other original maps.

Some screens to get an idea of the atmosphere and gameplay.

Updates per month, except under extraordinary circumstances.
Hope you enjoy!

More screenshots from elsewhere in the thread (minus screenshot showcase):

Some of these screenshots look pretty good already. Your texturing is well done and that's going to be only better if you keep at this.
Interesting idea to release your maps as well. Perhaps that could even work in your advantage for feedback.

Only a couple screenshots for now.
*moved to first post*

Considering renaming my level "King Tut's Summer Home" but maybe I'll save that for some HD version later on down the line... one thing at a time.

Getting close to some limits.
Either going to cut off the last section of the level or split everything into two levels.
Preferably prefer just one level but we'll see what happens.

EDIT: Also edited first post.

Level geometry is completed.
Here's a sneak peek at the 2D map, it will go away in about 12-24 hours.
~removed ~

Nearing Alpha testing at this point!!

Don't you have problems with the rooms in the SE corner?
You know, the classic "blinking rooms" bug.

Looks good, Zreen001!

About the third screen in your first post: how about putting subtle greenish lightbulbs on the surfaces of those pools?
That way the greenish lighting in the water will look like it is reflected onto the environment, making the pools look less cut out and seperate from the rest of the aea.

I built around the buggy corners. Hmmm...
There used to be a couple images in that thread showing where the buggy parts were. I remember seeing DJ run into that in the 2014 BTB, so I know what areas he was specifically talking about in his project
No blinking rooms for me!

EDIT: Maybe I'm thinking of someone else running into that problem and DJ making a thread for it later.

Ah so that's what was missing!
