Hi all, I've a big problem with this game.
I've downloaded the patch to run TR3 on my system Win 2000. The game in mode "Sofware" works fine but it's slow cause my old pc (it's a AMD Duron 800 Mhz), so I must play it in mode "Hardware Acceleration". But here there's the problem The game itself it's ok, but in the introduction of the game, there isn't the picture of the title of the game, and during a play when I press the inventory button appear strange texture. And It comes with any resolution to 16 or 32 bit and with/without filer, z buffer, ecc.. optios. Look the picture that I post |

depa that is a set of nice pictures. They are the raw material.
Don't play in Software mode, because that IS slower. Best is Hardware 3D accelleration. Then your graphic card will do its best for you. But you have to play the game in Compatibility mode. Click Start, then Run. Type in: cmd.exe click OK. In the command prompt type: CD %systemroot%\apppatch Press Enter. Then type: regsvr32 slayerui.dll Press Enter. It will give the message "DllRegisterServer in slayerui.dll succeeded". Click OK. Now click Start / Core design / Tombraider 3 ,right-click on "Play TR3", choose Properties, select the compatibility tab, choose to play in Windows 98 compatibility mode. |

Strange. Well have you seen the message "DllRegisterServer in slayerui.dll succeeded"???
Could it be your Directx. In itself: no. But it could be damaged, on your system. You could reinstall it (it will overwrite). Reboot the pc. But you also could have a damaged installation of the game perhaps? Try uninstall / reinstall the game. Have you updated your graphic cards drivers? Do your chipset drivers need an update? Could you send in your dxdiag.txt file as well? [ 13. November 2004, 13:23: Message edited by: joseph ] |

No, you cannot reinstall old DirectX. The only way to do that is reinstall Windows first.
Hey, i know that card (nVidia Riva TNT2 64), i played TR3, 4 and 5 on it in Windows ME. The card is capable for TR1 ~ 5. So you use the latest drivers. Hmmm. I have to think... |

That is what the patch and the compatibility mode are for, aren't they.
