I have made a custom wad with TRwest. I placed some objects in my level. Then I made an output wad and for the script file I copied the cleopal script because I didnt change many of the puzzle items. I opened level converter and it wouldn't covert my level because it had an illegal opperation. I know how to add levels to the list of levels with unchanged wads. How would you make a script file for a cmpletely custom wad. And what should I not change about a wad because I copied the cleopal wad and added in the objecs I wanted. Does anyone have experiance with making script files from a custom wad. HELP!

Ah! Ha! Some interesting comments here...

When you say "I have made a custom wad..." did you start with an existing wad, or have you created one from scratch? I'm curious as to what you've named this new wad?

Next, if you've given it a new name, be sure that the script.txt reflects the new name in the last line of the level's section.

You also say, "...I didn't change many of the puzzle item." Even one can be too many! Tell me... did you add any puzzle or key or pickup items to your wad from another wad? If so, you must copy all of those items' script.txt lines into the new script.txt file.

Now, here's where the real problem may lie... When you add an object from another wad to your new wad, in many cases that item may also require other objects for it to work properly. Check the TRwest documentation for "Animation Dependencies." Also make sure that you have all of the critically required objects in your wad. This is covered in the documentation as well.

That should get you started. Let me know how you make out.

Thanks. I went to the websight and I read some documentation. On the list of Animation Dependencies on City wad the SAS_MIP needs flame emiters and a dart emiter.
If you want the SAS badguy do you need SAS_MIP?

If you change a flame emiter from a different wad do you need to change the script?

Does the script file only need to be changed if you change a puzzle piece?

Off the top of my head, the only time that adding objects to a wad will require changes in the script file is when you add such things as puzzles, keys, pickups, and lens flares. To get a better idea of the objects requiring changes to the script file scroll through the script.txt file and take a look at the various lines in it.
