PC Sound/Graphics Problems

OK Core/Eidos was smart enough to tell us in their README that you need sound/graphics drivers for Direct X 9. I've got an NVidia card but my sound card is on the motherboard. Anyone know where to get updated drivers for a "generic" sound system? Weird Stuff. None of the beginning FMV seuqences shows up when the game is launched.
the cut scenes work with and without sound. Anyone else with sound/graphics problems. FOOEY to CORE/EIDOS for putting out a substandard game. They needed more beta-testing IMHO. Flames and replies welcome.
