Hi People!
I ordered AOD as soon as the pre-order option became available. I do believe the webs on my order are into Nth generation spiderdom. Any more news on that Feb. date - or are we going to be placed on hold a bit longer...? Not that I mind waiting all that much as long as it works perfectly when released. Will we have to buy a new vid card to make it work? Anyone know what's recommended? When it does arrive, I don't want to have to run screaming to the computer store .By the way, lo-o-ve the new board look! Annie

Howdy Annie. No confirmed date of release yet, nor confirmed or recommended specs. Core Design are building AOD around the GeForce 3, so that would be a good starting block.

I'm not pre-ordering. Someone here mentioned that you would be tied to one retailer while others may get the game earlier. That'd drive me crazy!!

I pre-ordered Chronicles when that came out on Amazon.co.uk.
They were absolutely brilliant, as the game came through my letterbox the morning of the day the game was released! I also had a day off work, so you can imagine what I did for that day... I haven't pre-ordered AOD, because I've yet to buy my PS2 to play it on... Chris.

I have also found Amazon.co.uk to be the most reliable source. I once pre ordered TR3 from a popular High street mega store, which required a deposit of £3.00. On the day of TR3's release it was cheaper than the pre ordered price, and I never got my deposot back, so i won't be doing that again!!!
Ive just re-pre ordered AOD from amazon, as I cancelled it when it was delayed, purchased Age of Mythology as a consolation, very angry to discover TR:AOD was delayed, especially until after Xmas. Im hoping that Medal of Honour: Spearhead and replaying Last Revelation entirely will keep me occupied throughout Xmas period.IF AOD is put back any further, I can see it being released next December. Does anyone know why AOD was delayed? |

A barrel load of speculation came with the announcement that AOD wouldn’t make its high profile Nov. release. The official line from Eidos President Rob Dyer as follows: "There are some fundamental things they [Core Design] need to do and we need to do them properly. More time working on Tomb Raider means we'll get it absolutely right."

Thanks for the info TLR Online. Much appreciated.
Im wondering what 'things' they didn't get right, from what ive seen, I dont like what they have done with some of the camera angles, and there is/was also some speculation over the new control system. Could these be some of the fundamental things that need/needed changing? It looks as though core design have used a similar game engine to that of Project Eden, which has its faults also. (great game neverthe less) Regards Dr SATAN |
