Does anyone here think that Lara did actually die at the end of TR4 and is maybe "brought back to life" by Set? Or is maybe is "possessed" by Set?
I was just thinking wouldn't it be interesting if everyone thought that Lara was really alive in the AOD games when she really isn't. That be a shocker! Get to the last game in the series only to find out she is not alive and that Kurtis Trent is going to take over the Tomb Raider series!!!!

I have wondered this. If she did die (evidently not because AOD is on the way), would she have been on the run from Set whilst imprisoned in the tomb?????
Trying to find Lara and kill her or something????Wouldn't Von Croys workers digging her up been afraid of releasing Set back into the world or something?????

I can't understand this:
We saw Lara dying at the end of tr4... At the begining of trc we saw Lara's people crying on her grave... And I thought because the "bad" end of tr4... At the other hand, in trc we didn't see how she brought up.... Is there any connection between these two games or not? Did I miss something? |

You have a really good point and it would be a damn shame if you turned out right because it would spoil it for the rest of us, but you are very smart for thinking up something that clever. It hadn't even crossed my mind.

Hi everybody! - It is an interesting question, but I think that before discussing it, there are some things that we should remember:
1. Lara indeed got trapped inside the temple at the end of TR4, but we have no absolute knowledge that she died. There is a void here. We have no idea if she found her way out by herself, or was saved by someone. 2. In TRC there is no Lara grave - it is a monument that was built in order to honor her. Also, those who were close to her say in the first FMV movie that they hope Von-Croy will discover her alive. 3. In the Lara Croft TR official web site, the developers of the game provide an explaination that fills the void, as a background to AOD: Lara was trapped inside the tomb, she got injured and was close to death but she managed to find her way out of the tomb. After she got out she lived among a tribe in the desert for a period of time before coming back... The most interesting point in the question is Seth: Was he locked up, or on the loose? Is he the evil through times, as said in the AOD FMV? |

The reasons I brought up this topic are not only to offer another side to things but because....
1. there was no quarantee that Lara is alive or dead. 2. Lara can not live forever and it makes me wonder how Core is going to end things with Lara. Is she going to have a family and live happily everafter or is she going to meet her death tomb raiding? Surprisingly enough, in comes Kurtis Trent. Core decided to wait six years before introducing a new character and that is a long time to wait. Why now? I tend to think something is going on. Maybe this is the end of Lara's tomb raiding days.

Hi everybody...
Let's say it's a monument and not a grave... Why her people cry? This means that she is not with them...Ok, this doesn't mean that she's dead... But what is going on when all these rocks fall on you? And if she is "possessed" by Set, why we didn't see something like this in trc? Ok...I'm a little bit confused. When I played all tr games I watched the videos between the levels but I couldn't understand all of them cause English isn't my mother tonque and maybe I missed something.... I just wondering... |

hi Elen,
I don't know for sure if Lara is possessed by Set or not. The last scene of TR4 shows Lara being trapped inside the tomb but we don't know what happened inside the tomb and how she got out. TRC comes out right after TR4 and everyone thinks she is dead so they come together to remember her and they start talking about her other adventures that have already happened. We know that Lara somehow gets out of the tomb but what we don't know is if she was dying and Set helped her somehow or if she got out by herself. Everyone thinks she is alive but what I wanted to do is offer another side to the story, that Lara did die and somehow Set was responsible for bringing her back to life or maybe using her to get something he wants. It is all a theory, will not know until the new AOD games come out.
