Early Last Revelation question

Oh dear - I've already asked you guys about the room with the puzzle, and the fire underneath that's really early on in Last Revelation. I was told to go jump on the tiles in order, and the gate at the end of the room should open.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong - but I STILL can't do it!!

Do I mess the whole thing up even by stepping on the edges of the tiles? Do I reset it when I walk from one tile to the one right next to it? And what happens when two light up at the same time next?

Sorry to ask such basic stuff, but it's really doing my head in, and I want to get on with the rest of it!

You have to make sure your jumping only on the tiles that have the light comming through them. If you step on any other tile you will have to start again. Dont worry you'll get it. And by the way no question is a stupid question!!

Hint: look at the torches against the wall.
every time you jump on the tiles one of them lites up.If they all go out you have touched one of the other tiles and will have to start over
