The Lost Artifact problem

I'm playing The Lost Artifact demo, Highland Fling level. I get as far and the pool where I'm supposed to find a key to unlock a gate in the castle, but the key isn't present in the pool.

Any ideas?

The demo differs from the final version. Even the 2nd Secret isn't there. Probably you need to find another way

edit: not "probably". You must find another way to proceed.

Key? There isn't any key in this level (and I mean the final version). You need to find 2 Thistle Stones but for the demo you need only one. And it is where you can find it in the final version too. Once you climb onto the bridge (the one that overlooks the Loch Ness monster) search for two gates behind the dog statues. The Stone is behind the right hand gate. Complete a timed run to pass through it.

When you manage it, go to the mud area on the left. (There is another one on the right with colorful textures, but you can't go anywhere from there.) You need to jump on the stone blocks, and from there into the mud to reach a low opening (screenshot). This opening will lead you to the Stone. Once you get it, you need to return back, and this time complete a timed run for the left hand gate. In there you place the stone and end the level.

where do u get the demo i downloaded the one from tomb raider chronicles and it doesnt work

What do you mean it doesn't work? We have the same file (I also got it from there) and it runs ok. Do you get an error message when you try to play it?
