Alister Fletcher: The Interview!

Earlier today I encouraged questions from you, the wonderful forum members, regarding Aliser from Tomb Raider Legend.

I cycled up to the gate, pressed the buzzer and winston let me in then I was introduced to Alister and we sat on the sofas by the fireplace. No sight of Lara, but Zip was tapping away in his room beside us.

Gosh what a difficult question! In truth, I find all cultures fascinating.

Why do you like Lara ?

I often ask myself the same question! She can be charming and cruel in equal measure. We do share similar interests though, I do wish she would study more before setting out. One might say she has a 'Raid now, research later' attitude (he chuckles)

Elysia asks: That's a very nice suit. Can I have it?

(he laughs) Thank you! I bought it in Italy, they have fabulous tailors. And

We first met in an Egyptology seminar, she was not a full time student though

how did you decide to help her?

She approached me actually; I was sitting in my room and she just burst in! She is quite forward like that! Working with Lara allows me access to many artifacts from all over the world. I now divide my time between Oxford and Lara's place in the country.

Lara is not an academic in the traditional sense, but she does frequent the University's museums. She has never worked officially for the university.

Alister do you shave often? , or do you forget sometimes, because i see your beard is growing

Shark_Blade asks:You help Lara a lot with your knowledge expertise. Do you have degree or masters in history or something? Or are you just a librarian in UK?

I have a double first in History, and I am currently writing my thesis. (he looks smug!)

Alister, once Amanda broke into Croft Mansion and you said you saw smokes or something. Luckily no one is hurt. Can you tell us what happened in detail

I was sitting beside Zip, we were talking to lara, and then what I would describe as a thick black smog, rolled down the stairs towards us, I'm afraid thats all I remember.

How did you meet Zip? In Cafe Metro? And what is he like?

Sorry I don't know a cafe metro. As for 'Zip'. We met at lara's place, I did not even know lara had invited him! (he lowers his voice so zip does not overhear us) He is frightful, really! Did you know he was in jail? (at this point Zip walks past and Alister becomes silent)

Where is your room in the mansion? Surely you didn't sleep outside?

Haha, no, no, I have a room along near the library. Though the library serves as a bedroom on occasion!

Why did you go to Florence while Lara is in Bolivia?

To visit the Uffizi gallery amongst other things. Florence is fascinating.

Natla'd asks: What's with the glasses? I mean - do you need them, or are they just some sort of fashion accessory?

I need them to read. I am a student, not a model, you do realise?

How old are you?

I am thirty seven. Can you ask a polite question now?

I like to walk around the manor, visit galleries, listen to music; I'm afraid
lara has not inspired me to become a Tomb Raider as some call her!

Mattster, that is brilliant. Alister is so uptight, though. Honestly! Not answering an innocence question like "do you wear eyeliner"?

And he didn't reveal his sexuality. When you go back, try to look for any clues...you know, magazines, videos, a scantily-leather-clad muscle-man hanging off his arm...

Still, a fantastic interview. I have lots of questions for Winston now...

btw I guessed the age of 37. Most likely he started uni at 19, add three years for the undergrad years you get 22 then his biography says he is 15th year doctoral student so you get an age of 37. I think thats believable.

afriad not! I went to croft manor, not Croft Sex Club lol. but maybe it changed once i've gone!

I think he looks about 35, I think the 15year doctoral student is quite silly. he would have been kicked out if he didnt manage within the time limit. If anyone asked that I was going to suggest he makes larges donations to the university. Anyway Winston question thread is online so go ask!
