Quick question - Especially for all of you native to Greece
Hello guys, I am thinking of taking a vacation to Greece next March, and I am thinking of staying at the Golden Tulip Electra Palace.....can you guys give me some tips on where to eat and some tourist attractions (besides the Acropolis, Parthenon, etc.)? All input is appreciated

Υοu should go to Lycabettus (pronounced Lykavitos). It's a hill where you'll have a panoramic view of whole Athens and there's a beautiful church on the top.
If you're into museums,Athens is full of them, any tourist guide, will help ypu locate, those that interest you most. About food, you should go to a Greek restaurant (taverna),you'll find a lot of these in Plaka and Monastiraki (areas at the centre of Athens) Foods you must taste before you leave Greece(take notes) -Souvlaki pita -Pastitsio -Tzatziki And if you're into alchohol...try retsina (a type of whine) and ouzo!!! |

souvlaki pita,is the most famous Greek recipe! It is a wrap (kinda like Arabic pie,but a lot better) inside they put meat (pork, chicken, sausage or whatever you ask them...the best is pork called gyros). There are also french fries in it,tzatziki, onions and tomato.
Of course you can ask them to leave out ingredients you may not like,u can even have it with no meat. Tzatziki is yogurt with garlic and cucumber....u have to taste it!!!!! Pastitsio is makaroni with meat and on the top a delicious cream! |

Lara's Boy, are we talking about next year? I don't have a damn clue where the Golden Tulip Electra Palace is, but I guess it's in Athens? (I'll Google). There are many things you can see here. Walking in Plaka's streets (Plaka is close to Acropolis) would be a nice idea. I live 20 mins away from Acropolis on foot, so we could go for a coffee and I could give you a ban for the welcome |

The hotel is supposed to be .5 miles south of Athens. That walk sounds nice, and thanks for your generous offer of coffee, lol Oh yeah, and this will be early next year |
