Default Taking a leaf out of MGS3's book..

Hiya all.

Do you think it would be great if CD took a leaf out of Konami's book?

Like in MGS3 you could use plants and herbs to heal you, and you have to use different items to heal you in different ways depending on what you have done (like you had to use a splint for a broken leg, ect.)

Also, in MGS3 you can eat all sorts of things, like pick mushrooms and eat them, or even shoot down a beehive and eat the honey.

And another thing that would be great would be a hand-to-hand combat system too.

I think it would be great if this feature was added to future TR games because it adds lots of realism and more interactivity.

What do you think?

Jamie.

I was just talking about incorporating one of it's features just a second ago on another thread LOL. I'd say the H2H system would be a good source of inspiration for CD and the nature aspect would work much better than unrealistic medi-packs lying around the place.

NO! Seriously, that sounds more like a Final Fantasy story. Take these herbs to heal you, eat this shroom for special powers. That's TOO fantasy like. I'm happy with the old med pack if lara is hurt or weak.

Just as long as they don't include the stealth aspect of MGS (or, as I kept on insisting (accidently) in calling it, MSG...). I suck the big one when it comes to stealth-'em-ups! (I spent 4 HOURS trying to get up one corridor in MGS before I simply gave up in pure frustration at my craptitude...)

To me it sounds more adventure-ish, I thought you'd be in support of something along those lines? I've played both FF and MGS and their health recovery systems are very differant from each other. The idea of survival in the wilderness sounds like an excellent idea for TR and I think it would help it be more realistic, yet also more adventurous. At least we know those endangered animals wouldn't go to waste! lol

Yeah, I think using herbs, plants and mushrooms would be a good idea for healing in a Tomb Raider game

It would be alot more realistic and add to the effect of playing the game -rather than just pressing up on an inverntory for those 'magical healing' medi-packs in TRL

I don't think it's fantasy like, if anything it's even more realistic - especialy compared to the affore-mentioned magical medi-packs!

I agree with Elysia though, no stealth please!

Did you READ my previous post??? You mention in the original post herbs to cure you, sure sounds like FF. You mention eating things for strength and power, again sounds like FF. Don't turn TR into a sims either. GTA:SA tried that and IT WAS STUPID! Eat to give him strength, work out to give him muscles, don't over eat or he gets fat. Same with the whole dating thing in GTA:SA... YUCK!
