Do you have the cd in your first player (with the lowest drive letter: "D" is lower than "E")?

If you have an onboard soundchiop instead of a real soundcard, do this:
Start > Run... type in
dxdiag
click OK.
On the "Sound" tab, move the slider to the left for 'no hardware acceleration'.

Also, you must apply Windows 98/ME compatibility mode onto TR2.
(Start > All Programs > Core Design > Tomb Raider 2 > right-click on the Setup shortcut > Properties > Compatibility tab, in the dropdownbox select 'Windows 98/ME compatibility').

i'm not sure if i have a soundcard or chip i tried it anyway, and all it did was cause no more music tracks to be played in-game...

Your 'losing music' problem is solved if you put the cd in the FIRST player.

By the way, i forgot. But i checked: i have that too on my hyperthreaded CPU PC: Eidos intro and first FMV freeze.

The game itself runs OK? On my PC it does.

So, GodOfLight, you are simply to press Esc twice to skip freezing FMVs and enjoy the game then...

Did you install the XP patch? It comes with a DLL you need to run the FMVs correctly. I was having the same problem until I installed that and it fixed them.
