Do you have the cd in your first player (with the lowest drive letter: "D" is lower than "E")?
If you have an onboard soundchiop instead of a real soundcard, do this: Start > Run... type in dxdiag click OK. On the "Sound" tab, move the slider to the left for 'no hardware acceleration'. Also, you must apply Windows 98/ME compatibility mode onto TR2. (Start > All Programs > Core Design > Tomb Raider 2 > right-click on the Setup shortcut > Properties > Compatibility tab, in the dropdownbox select 'Windows 98/ME compatibility'). Your 'losing music' problem is solved if you put the cd in the FIRST player.

By the way, i forgot. But i checked: i have that too on my hyperthreaded CPU PC: Eidos intro and first FMV freeze.
The game itself runs OK? On my PC it does. |

Did you install the XP patch? It comes with a DLL you need to run the FMVs correctly. I was having the same problem until I installed that and it fixed them.
