Smile Tomb Raider Action Adventure DVD - The Stone Cold Hard Facts

I'm still in the process of my full review, but I thought it prudent to post this now to address any confusion that has arisen over this product.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD is an interactive DVD based on The Angel Of Darkness.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD does not include any additional story or features other than to simplify the story of AOD somewhat. Players of AOD might find the story has been condensed somewhat.
  • Both Lara and Kurtis feature.
  • AOD was chosen as a base for Tomb Raider iDVD because Legend was still in development and AOD was the last game to have been produced.
  • Depending on the success of this new direction in iDVD entertainment, additional episodes of Tomb Raider could be converted.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD can be played both on PC (with a DVD player and software like PowerDVD) and normal home DVD player.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD has been created for nongamers and folk who haven't played video-games before, or who are meeting Lara Croft for the first time.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD has a two-player mode function where folk (parents and kids?) can compete against each other.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD was produced by recording footage from AOD and then making it interactive on iDVD.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD has a completion time of around 2-3 hours.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD uses a points-based system which rewards players for additional exploration or wise moves.
  • Tomb Raider iDVD is a perfect present for your parents this Christmas Order for just over a tenner!
  • Our Tomb Raider iDVD microsite is located here.
  • To clarify, Tomb Raider iDVD is based on The Angel Of Darkness (part 1) and is aimed squarely at folk new to video-games and/or Lara Croft.

I hope it sells well, because I would like to see part 2!

Thanks

Ahhh! Thanks, I'd wondered that.

Converted usually means there has to be a previous form for it to be converted from, but l take it they would be willing to also make new iDVD games of adventures not seen yet or not completed? ie : Having started of with AOD l take it they are interested in doing the other 2 parts of the trilogy if it seems there is a market for the games, and the first one makes enough profit

This was produced by recording footage from AOD and then making it interactive on iDVD. The same process would be applied to other games should this format take off. I updated the FAQ.

They won't be restricted for choice, there are thousands of games out there. I'm currently working on my computer, making Resident Evil : the Family Adventure DVD. It is easier to convert an already existing game into an iDVD product - than to create something new from scratch. Any sequels would probably be made from already existing footage, and the old games look too dated now for the general buying public.

I hope I never see the tagline 'AoD2. the PS3 remake of the popular iDYD series.'

ThePeteMaster,if AOD II & III appear in this format, what's the matter?!

I thought AOD's force was on the plot, not in the format!Being a new thing,of course Eidos wouldn't risk loosing a lot of money building a new game for something they've never tried before!

Anyway, I admit I'm curious to know how will we play in HOS,using this format.Perhaps more screenie ...?
