playing TR1 on Windows XP

Hello and I'm back after a long time absence.. 1 month ago I took a new computer with windows XP...I downloaded today the VDMsound and the Installer for being able to play TR1... although I do play it now I have no sound and the graphics are not very good... actually they atr worse than in Windows 98 I had before.. what must I do??
PLease help...

You may need Soundblaster 16. As for the graphics if you brought a Sold-out copy just press F1 and the graphics should automatically improve. If not get Direct X 9.0c or make sure you have 16 bit colour or something like that. You might want to disable XP visual themes when playing the game because that could be whats wrong with the graphics.

Hello ania,

I suggest you should install dgVoodoo which is a glide emulator and will allow high resolution graphics for TR1.
As for the sound there are a couple of reasons why it is not working.

For information on graphics and sound take a look at the TR1 FAQ .
