There is no such computer, and there never will be. If you really want this, you should probably get one of the next-gen consoles.

As for what PC you should get, I'm certain Joseph will give you an outline, but at the moment I'd wait a couple of months, until ATI/AMD released their DX10 cards and Nvidia has cheaper Geforce 8's.

BUT the first DirectX10 card, the nVidia GF8800GTX is very expensive while there are no applications/games that make use of it yet. Still, here is the first DirectX10 card which is a monster:
GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3, PCI-Express, "BP8800GTX-768-TV-DD" £435.00
XFX GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3, PCI-Express, 2xDVI/HDTV/HDCP, 384-bit £445.00
The performance goes with high cost: it is very powerhungry. Better wait till ATI's reply, till DX10 cards have become cheaper to buy and cheaper in use (need less power).

While the best most stable, problem-free DirectX9.0c card of the moment is the ATI X1950XTX and much nicer priced and has faster DDR4 memory:
Club3D Radeon X1950XTX 512MB GDDR4, PCI-Express, Dual-DVI-I, VIVO, CF Ready £299.00
Asus Radeon X1950XTX 512MB GDDR4, PCI-Express, 2xDVI-I, HDCP, ViVo, Retail £309.00

These two cards are the absolute high end of the moment.

If you are building yourself, these components i would recommend qua price/performance:

Case:
Cooler Master Stacker Case Black/Silver (Without PSU) £94.00

Power Supply:
If you will use 1 top high end graphic card like GF 7900GTX2 or ATI Radeon X1950 XTX this 550W one is very fine:
Cooler Master Real Power 550W w/Power indicator, SLI, ATX/EPS, 20/24pin £79.00
If you will use 1 graphic card like GF 8800GTX (the first DirectX10 card), OR you will use 2 ATI cards in Crossfire mode you'll need a 700W like:
OCZ Technology Powersupply ATX/EPS 700W, 120mm Fan, SATA, 4/8pin CPU, 20/24pin £110.00

Mainboard:
Asus P5W DH Deluxe,I975X,Socket-775,ATX, SATAIIx7, Dual-GbLAN, DDR2, 2xPCI-Ex16 £155.01

Processor:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz Socket LGA775, 4MB, BOXED w/fan £210.01

Memory:
Corsair TWIN2X 8500C5 DDR2, 2048MB CL5, Kit w/two 1GB Dimm's, E.P.P Technology £265.00

Graphics card:
Club3D Radeon X1950XTX 512MB GDDR4, PCI-Express, Dual-DVI-I, VIVO, CF Ready £299.00
The best most stable, problem-free DirectX9.0c card of the moment and nicely priced, with fastest DDR4 memory

Harddiskdrives:
excellent price/performace:
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM £49.95
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM £49.95
It is best to have two identical hdd's rather than 1: when one dies, you can have a backup of your Windows and documents on your second drive (if you organize that).
Faster and much more expensive:
Western Digital Raptor 150GB SATA 16MB 10000RPM £155.01
Western Digital Raptor 150GB SATA 16MB 10000RPM £155.01

DVD-RW:
Cheap yet very good:
NEC DVD±recorder AD-5170 IDE Black OEM DVD+R/+RW/DVD-R/-RW (Dual layer) £26.00
Pricey but the best there is:
Plextor DVD±RW burner, PX-755A, 16x, Dual, Black Retail £42.50

Floppy drive:
Sony Floppy Drive, 3,5" 1,44MB Black, Internal £7.00
A few times a year you may notice that it is very unhandy to have no floppy drive, so make sure you have one.

I feel I have to jump in and say Josephs recommendations though very good, are very high spec and if your budget is limited you can get away with something a little lower spec (and cheaper) for now, although it will need upgrading sooner.

Agree on all counts. Hey Joseph, you ought to open a boutique store selling customized PCs - your recommendations read like a Christmas wish list.

Are you using a mirror RAID for that? I've thought about it but never gotten around to trying it out.

No, i use Norton Ghost 10 (former Powerquest Drive Image).
A RAID mirror would half your hdd's capacity (if you have 2 x 250 GB, you in fact have only 1 x 250 GB), so that is not attractive to me.
I only 'Ghost' my Windows installations, not the entire disks with all partitions. I can do that, because i have the same documents copied over 3 PC's, and also on DVD.

Ah, I see. I use Acronis True Image myself. Personally I find it better than NG 10.
