Found this in a magazine: http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

The premise was simple, and in the current era of humiliation tv, brilliant: have a group of suitors vie for the love of a beautiful woman...only to learn, in the final episode, that she is actually a he. In fact, the charade worked so well that the program, "There's Something About Miriam", made for British television, may never air. Several eager contestants, competing for a $16,000 prize, were happily lured into giving "Miriam", a stunning pre-op transsexual, intimate massages, caresses, kisses and even love poems.
When she finally lifted her skirt to reveal her knickers...and a less-than-feminine silhouette...the suitors were very, very not amused. "They were tricked and were shaking and crying," claims their lawyer, who says the men, who have so far chosen to remain anonymous, will sue if Britain's Sky One channel airs the episodes. For now, the shows have been taken off the November schedule.

There is a Russian "reality" tv show in which Russian youngsters live in a container on a secured lot at Berlin. They get no food, but have to go out into the city to beg or steal their food.
Yes, it's true.
I guess German authorities don't find it easy to find the legal means to have this dirty thing stopped.

Hungry, begging people on tv for entertainment!

Reality T.V will never end, because money is involved. Not only for the producers of a show, but for the participants too.

Some people don't hesitate to humiliate themselves for money http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/traurig/sad-smiley-066.gif and those producers know very well how to manipulate them

Unfortunately yes. I watched a few episodes the first season of Big Brother and it's really tragic. What people do for money

Why is it called 'reality' TV?

Hopefully people will get bored with it. From the little I've seen I would have thought watching paint dry would be better.

The added problem there are a lot of people in Russia who are desperate for a normal life, but are without any resources.

How very sad. The sadest part is that people watch eagerly.

There is one "reality-show" I watch... The norwegian christmas-calendar. There are 24 "Santas" all living together in a loft, they never get to take off their santa-costume and all they have to eat is porage and sweets... Each day they have a vote were one is sent home.

Needless to say, the show is a satire of real reality-shows and all the "contestants" are actors! It's brilliant!!! :D :D :D
