Try Catax 4.1 (http://www.catax.com/)
I haven't used it much, but so far I prefer it to any of the common ones because it seems more reliable, looks nicer and is very simple and easy to use. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Waiting for more people to join me now! :D http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Well there is also Trillian, it's a replacement for all three of the above, enabling you to talk to everyone on all supported IMs but use only one program.

I didn't like it though. Very messy GUI, ****py emoticons. And it used more memory than the other three IMs combined.

Hang on a sec, just grabbing some screenshots http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Well, Geck. MSN seems simple enough? What would be the biggest advantage to swapping? Yahoo and ICQ are also simple. I can use them so must be! :D

Tipp, the big prob with msn is that it's a pain in the behind! It's forever kicking you off and doing wierd and strange things (like swaping ppl in & out of convos!) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

ICQ uses 5MB as standalone product http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif

I use AIM most of the time anyways, so it doesn't really matter now.

Could someone check that link for me please; the computer seems to be playing up and won't show half of the stuff it's meant to :(

Here are few Trillian screenshots:

There is also a free version of Trillian. You may download it here (http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/downloads/)

I'll now stop talking about Trillian :D

I agree with Bokkie, Trillian is full of good features. I'd stick to it if it wasn't so unstable on my system, especially the MSN plugin. Hope it improves in the next versions http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

[Edit] Miranda (http://miranda-im.org/) is a promising free alternative to Trillian, but it's way too modular for its own good.
