On the off chance that anything has changed
I don't have a cd drive on my PC, so buying this game physically is out. And I don't want to play it so bad that i'm going to buy one special
And i'm assuming there is still absolutely zero update/support/digital PC release of any kind (at least from what I hear) The PS1 conversion being worked on by b122251 looks very exciting. But do Square still not have anywhere set up where you can get this from? |
You have to sail the seas to get it, it's not available in any official way so no digital downloads either. I would recommend looking for it on archive.org

Sooo... Do you think Embracer will finally do somwthing on that front? I'm sure releasing TLA digitally would please the fans immensely.

Has no-one extracted the CD and just put it up? I'm sure it's somewhere.
I'm surprised it's not been released as a TRLE. |
You can download the Lost Artefact game from archive.org !!
They have it in every language, and also have the USA version :) There are no-CD patches around too, if it requires you to mount an ISO to play. The game is abandonware, it came out 22 years ago in 2000 and it hasn’t really been sold since 2000. You can download it from Internet Archive. |
The game is technically not abandonware, as Square Enix had the rights to it (until recently - now it's probably also Embracer's property).
Several members of Crystal / Square have promised to look into the matter with their legal team in the past, but never got / communicated an answer. Downloading the game is highly likely to be piracy until someone holding the license finally greenlights it. |
It's a good job none of us have downloaded and enjoyed this great little gem then. :p
Hopefully someone will one day greenlight it because I'd get it on day one. |
