I never realized this before because I played with a gamepad, but the game is almost completely unplayable with keyboard and mouse, and the only reason are the ****ing QTEs. Okay, left and right are A and D, I was sort of able to figure that out on my own. But a button prompt with an exclamation mark? Why not just say that I'm supposed to press "F" here? I had to look through the button options to figure that one out, and that's just bad game design.
Or better yet, the game should have a setting "no QTEs, also skip all cutscenes". That would make it instantly much better. Edit to add some other notes: - Why on earth is Sam's pack there where Lara finds it? There's no indication how Sam or anyone else could have gotten there. Of course, In a world where they all went everywhere to distribute their journal pages, anything's possible, but still. - At the sheltered ridge, I had to press skip four times to get rid of all the cutscenes. What's the use case? Does anyone honestly think "yeah, I'm not gonna watch that first and last part, but the middle is gold" or something? |

Anyway, another thing I realized again: Despite all the complaints I have about the story and the upgrading and whatever, at its core, there is a really fun game here. Killing all the deer and rabbits is fun. Exploring a sprawling jungle environment is fun. The basic jumping and platforming is fun. I just wish the game was more about that and less about the other stuff. |
Playing through the Definitive Edition again. The amount of times Lara gets into a scene like sliding down the slope to get away from a crashing plane is quite comical. When I played that just now I actually imagined her thinking this. Still a good game though. :D

Booop! We've got an official title for the first Comic book!
TOMB RAIDER: SURVIVORS GUILT! The only criticism I have is in relation to the exclamation point in the title. It's extremely unnecessary. :o Also, if this wasn't posted before, here's a big version of the cover! |
