I miss the swimming already.

It's such a mess in LAU trilogy and now it's completely missing in TReboot. I mean Uncharted 3 has swimming, even Resident Evil 6 has swimming! But no, the new TR has no swimming. Let's all laugh at this unfortunate turn of event.

Swimming in LAU was great IMO.

Though I do find it funny as you've pointed out, especially that these games have begun to be more "scene by scene" types of action games, and now Tomb Raider has seemingly taken that step, but left swimming out of the scenes.

I'm sure we'll have it back though.

Swimming TR DLC: We didn't get to put it in the game for you folks, but we got it here now for DLC. And of course it won't be cheap.

If they did give swimming as DLC (not even sure how that would work or be compatible with the rest of the game) I'd love it in the form of a completely (almost) submerged hub space.

In fact I want to see that in the next game, giant underwater sections bigger than the ones in TRU, and allow us to explore them fully, but limit our breath sometimes.

Is there any news as to what the plot of this game is going to be?

She finds herself off the coast of Japan, on an mysterious island with a few other survivors of Endurance. There are scavengers on the island, they're worshipping queen Himiko and they capture women for some reason. That's basically all we know.

For days I'm thinking about how Japanese culture influence Lara in successive games. Since she suffers all this trauma and becomes a Tomb Raider in the wake of this adventure, I wonder what impact it will have in the future. Sure that the concentration and inner peace that demonstrate some Japanese traditions can be some of them. (random mind)

Yes, what we've seen so far is the first hour (or so) of the game. We actually know nothing about the game. Nothing about the story and not much about the gameplay either.

I've seen the hunting deer, the campfire, the "rape", her going down the underground tunnel, and getting washed down the river and landing on that glass.

A giant cave under the ocean, I want that to be a hub, with tons of cliffs and lethal falls, a camp area from where our missions start. Sort of repair missions, and basic survival missions during our stay in this cave over the night or whatever.

The underwater cave is out of question as the new Lara can't swim -_- ...!

I find really weird the fact that she can't swim O_O ! It's not rocket science!

They just didn't have the schedule to add a full swimming feature set, because there are a lot of other new systems in the game, somewhere.

I'm dead-sure she'll be swimming in TR10.

Also the next game I think will be great. Its sounds obserd to be saying it now but sequals to games often tend to be really good (dont bother giving me examples of failed sequals -__-) Arkham City took everythink Arkham Asylum had and added more to it, expanded it. Tomb Raider will/should do this. Like swimming, gymnastics (Or not. Shes not one in this game so I dont understand how shes gona be spinnin round poles) weapons.

So, I was playing Thief today and I thought of Tomb Raider. There are a very interesting use of ropes and arrows in the environments.

This one, especifically, is a mod for the third game. But in the first one it was a default feature.

Maybe the rope/arrow feature they talked about is similar to this?
