There's a better chance of pigs flying, though...

Lara being on the cover isn't what I meant with "tradition" , I was reffering to the traditional position of Lara , every cover have a teflon super badass Lara looking at us holding her dual pistiols or aiming by them (well , except Legend) without paying much attention to the background scenary behind her, in TR2013 original cover every thing was original , a wounded calm Lara thinking deeply about her experience facing the angry sea and the storms and shipwrecks behind her represents the character and atmosphere of the island which is Lara's enemy and the target of the story , I consider it a perfect example of lovely-looking meaningful deep peice of art TBH , the new cover seems so generic and again "traditional"

Shark_Blade 31-12-13 01:05

The usage of "Teflon" by CD is stupid anyway. Core Lara was never teflon, try giving me examples to refresh my mind, go on. She's still burnt when exposed to fire and impaled when fell on spike traps.

If anything, TReboot Lara is Teflon as ****. Falling on spikes, didn't die. Hell she straight away walking and jumping like its nothing eventhough she had a punctured hole through her stomach. :vlol: Falling off sky with parachute, nope still not dead. Falling off cliffs and still not dead (in game), not even a health diminished.

Seriously.

Lol we're spared for now, but CD has confirmed that the sequel will feature an even more realistic Lara with the foreseen TressFx armpit hair to supplement the groundbreaking technology of PricklyFX leg hair :vlol:

So, Tomb Raider was nominated in the Best Third-Person Shooter category for gametrailers.com's GOTY awards:

Gave me a bit of a giggle.

Bishop Knight 02-01-14 22:54

I like the new cover art better. And speaking of the new art and the updated Lara model I think it looks closer to Megan Farquhar. I never seen a picture of Megan until today. Man, they should of just did a one for one model of her. Some of the images on the web look very Lara Croft.

larafan25 02-01-14 22:56

She posed for a painting of Lara by Brian Horton, and the painting looks incredibly like both Lara and her. Like. just enough of both likenesses.

I know right? I hate when people say that she was just too invincible in the original games. Maybe she was, but I was the one holding the controller, and I most certainly wasn't! :p In the new game I almost never died, and she could take anything without even flinching, so I really did feel invincible, but not in a good way; I felt she was too amazing too fast, and her health had no idea what was going on. The easiness of it really took away from the game and the realism for me.

I don't think the updated face looks like Megan Farquhar at all! And I don't like her for Lara one on one either! I think her face looks too... I don't know, like fake or plastic? And her body's too thin and soft - Lara needs curves and muscles!

No, that was Erin Johnston, for the cover. Megan got a face scan that was the starting point for reboot Lara's face, then they changed it a bunch.

That painting doesn't look like Lara. At all. It's Meagan 100%.

larafan25 03-01-14 18:06

relly? I think it looks like Lara.

Haha I was looking at it, and I was like, it kind of looks like Meagan Marie, but not really Lara or Meagan Farquhar. :p That makes so much more sense.

larafan25 03-01-14 21:05

ooo I thought you were talkin about Meagan Meagan.

I guess I should have been clearer. I was referring to her face and in some of her pictures. But, I agree about her body. Lara needs to be fit. She always had the thick fit legs in the Core promotional images. Of course her proportions were exaggerated to look more toon like. But, we get the general idea of what Lara was meant to be. Very fit and very much a woman.

I'm not crazy about the new Tomb Raider Lara but any improvement is better than none. And I do feel the new Lara model and cover art are better than what it was when the new game came out.

klona 06-01-14 16:06

The Story of Lara Croft is now called Tomb Raider: The Adventures of Lara Croft
I still wonder what it is about.

EDIT: It is still like that here.

Mikky 06-01-14 18:44

What is/was the "Stories of Lara Croft" anyway? O_o

Wait, was it that other book that Bradygames was gonna release that got delayed?

Could you imagine? A fold-out book that also acts as a board game, with collectible cards included. And why call it "Tomb Raider: The Adventures of Lara Croft"? Because Lara is in and she's going on an adventure!

Rated 3+.

Lukass 06-01-14 19:09

After all the experiences, I actually could imagine
Yeah.

klona 07-01-14 07:09

edit: This is too cute. Why does she have to be.

It actually seems like something reboot Lara would say, in one of her sassy moments.

edit: like too cute.

K. The one thing I could not stand in TRU was how easily Lara could die when she fell, that and the fact that it often felt inconsistent, as some places she might die from heights, and other places seemed to feature a death zone.

But in TR9, I find it's the exact opposite, Lara can fall so incredibly far without dying, and these falls mean nothing because her health regenerates in seconds. I know it's partially due to her higher jumps, as it would be stupid to jump down a slope as you're running and loose health for something so silly, but .... IDK.

I wish they would at least get rid of the health regen if they're keeping her drop distance the same, so that when we do drop from such lofty heights, we experience consequences.

sackboy123 13-01-14 21:32

The same was in Legend and Anniversary little heights kill her but the thing in Underworld that was annoying was the movement and her getting caught in walls :hea:

I still don't understand why there is a GOTY Edition when it didn't even win GOTY

It won, some from some unknown sites. :p

Because a GOTY edition of a game has no connection to any award of the same name, I'm not sure it ever did. It's just a banner to make it seem like a better purchase.

Huesca 14-01-14 17:43

I wanted it for PC

ThatSassyKid 14-01-14 17:43

Where is the logic? :pi:

larafan25 14-01-14 19:34

YAAAAL

THERE IS A PIC PREVIEW OF

OH MY FART

OF issue 3 of the TR comics

WE NEED A THREAD FOR THIS STUFF.

IT'S TIME

she looks like classic Lara as reboot Lara from this angle, and the style, imo:

http://pic.driber.net/up/2014/jafwpo_22840.jpg

YALL. Next month, the story continues. So like, whatever we wanted to know, we are going to know, now, on a monthly basis, until the next game.

SHIZAM.

Caesum 14-01-14 19:42

... Just wait for the full version having Lara inside a WWII bunker...

larafan25 14-01-14 19:42
