you can also notice the lighting being completely broken on dreamcast, but no one ever noticed as they were too busy looking at the shadow :p Quote:
https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...149&height=669 will definitely fix it at a later time. Quote:
as for the sound, I'll see why it doesn't play on PC, thank you ;) |
regarding the loading bar and loading text, is there any chance we could have it moved down lower towards the bottom of the screen like the PS1 version?

Just to report a few more bugs, all tomb4 related. Here's the save files for some of these issues if you would like them:
There's a further two minor bugs that I thought is worth mentioning as well:
Anyway, hope you don't mind the lengthy bug report. I'm having a lot of fun playing Last Revelation again :pi: |

yeah, the jeep bug is my fault, I noticed it yesterday and I知 working on fixing it :) Enemy jeep not triggering is already fixed and will be in next release :) I値l check why the fmv doesn稚 play, I always have them disabled so I never noticed :p The thing with Werner is actually a level editing error and happens in the original as well, I値l see if I can fix it through code but it痴 unlikely I値l check the texture, thank you! |

Not sure if this is a bug you can fix or if it is related to the level's sample files: But in Guardian of Semerkhet when Lara slides down the passages that lead to the door which triggers the bull, the fire burners in a neighboring secret room make a very strange "pulsing" noise (can be heard best when monkey swinging to that secret room). I was never sure if this was intentional or not, but it seems like a sound issue. Also: I believe TRNG made it possible that audio tracks do not reset or stop when saving and reloading. Is there any way to make this possible for both the tomb4 and tomb5 projects, so that even if we save and reload, the audio is still playing where it left off? |

Also, I wonder if its possible to increase the draw distance like Tomb1Main and TR2Main? |

It値l be cool to see what you come up with for the Werner door bug, if you do find a way to resolve it with code. I知 also pleased to hear that you've got the other bugfixes covered :tmb: |
I'm wondering if anyone else has ever ran into this, because I'm 99% this is a vanilla bug.
If you trigger the minotaur boss in Chambers of Tulun, you can actually get stuck at a certain part of the level. The building that you can only enter after getting the Nitrous upgrade actually lets you climb down into the basement before being able to explore the rest of the building. However, if you climb down there before you are able to get back out through the upper level, and have already triggered the minotaur - you can't climb back up because it keeps knocking you back down, as if you're on the ladder that leads up to Aziza. Effectively soft-locking the game. I'm assuming once the boss is triggered it's only accounting on Lara being on "a" ladder, not which one besides the ones in the mosque as noted by snake below - but that's just a guess. But it's definitely repeatable. Has anyone else ever ran into this? Can it be fixed here? |
^ It's definitely a vanilla bug, and you are correct, one does get soft locked if that happens.
I believe it has something to do with how the Hammer God responds to ladders if there is a flat surface beneath them. Both the ladder leading to Citadel Gate, and the one in the fire sprinkler area you get soft-locked in, have a flat floor beneath them. But the ladder that's inside the mosque itself (the arena in which we lock him in) has sloped floor squares beneath it which is why he doesn't seem to want to attack her while she's climbing on that one. https://i.imgur.com/cN8klxh.jpg I could be wrong, and maybe it isn't room geometry related at all. In which case I hope I'm wrong because then it might actually be fixable to make him only focus on the one ladder leading to Citadel Gate. :o |
hi, i can fix it, but would you tell me which ladder it happens on that softlocks the game? I don't remember Cairo much :v

It's the one in the basement of the building that you need the torch for in Chambers of Tulun, to set off the fire sprinklers. You can't explore most of that building before obtaining the Nitrous upgrade for the motorcycle, as Lara can't get up there otherwise. However, if you go down the ramp to the basement, where there are two doors (one is uninteractable, the other has the merc and fire for the torch inside) there's a ladder to your right down there once you get down there. This ladder is possible to climb down through an opening outside before you ever get the Nitrous upgrade, because it's in a place where Lara can jump up through the opening and climb down. But doing so after the boss has been triggered is what causes the bug above. If you need a screenshot I can provide one later when I'm at my gaming PC. |
I think I encountered that bug today as well.
You can bypass it by having Lara only climb with her hands. Stick to one of the edges of the ladder, and she won't fully latch on - in which case the minotaur never knocks you off. EDIT: @woops I looked it up, it's this ladder at 2h53m: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1443405559?t=2h53m14s |
@Omnicrash Yep, that's the one! Thanks so much for posting a link to that.

There's another bug that could be related somehow, when the puzzle is activated there's just one beam of energy. In the original game you get three beams of energy which meets at the middle. |

I encountered a strange bug with the bike in Trenches. After accelerating and driving over the pit to get to the ladder that leads to Street Bazaar, when I tried to dismount from the bike, the bike shot to the other end of the room and started spinning in the air, with Lara trapped in the ground like this: https://i.imgur.com/IVvKkxL.jpg It didn't happen when I reloaded and tried the whole thing again, so might just be a one-off weird incident. |
I’ll make a little hack for the ladder :)

Even if not- if anybody manages to reproduce it, please save during that state and send me the save, that would also help a ton, thank you :) |
I wish I had a saved, but sadly I didn't. I tried re-creating the incident but it didn't work. So if I catch it again in the future I'll save during the motorbike bug.
Here's another bug/request, but it may be .tr4 file related so not sure if it can be fixed: in the level Sphinx Complex, when Lara is in the warehouse to get the Metal Blade for the shovel, when she presses the button switch to exit the warehouse, she performs the incorrect animation. Can this be changed? |

savegame.8 is before the needle puzzle. savegame.10 is at the pull chain after rotating the needles, but haven't activated the puzzle yet. Edit: I've also tried using a save file from Stella's site, and the puzzle worked with all three needles pointing to the middle, and the 3 beams appeared. So maybe the bug has something to do with the save file? |

Quote:
Yes, the Stella save was after rotating the needles. Just now, I've also tested a Stella save file from an earlier point before rotating the needles, and can confirm that there's no bug either. |
Quote:
The obelisks are rotated properly. so it was actually my bug :[ but the original also has a bug like this, (you can see it's 11 months old, so it can't be me :p) I guess it's a coincidence they both resulted in the same thing :p |
Quote:
That's fantastic news, Troye! It's interesting to hear that the bug was related to saves after all, but that's one less bug to worry about :tmb: |
I don't know if this was always the case, but the Golden Skull secrets lose their name string in Race for the Iris, so they show up as "Load" in the inventory. Just a heads-up, if this is something you're able to fix. :)

Really just interested in a fix for Core's eternal TR4 mistake of "SEPERATE" vs "SEPARATE"... |
Quote:
TR4 and TR5 both operate almost all of their text strings via, SCRIPT.dat and LANGUAGE.dat (english.dat for most players) inside the root folder for these games. As far as I know, the only text strings handled by the exe files themselves are some of the names of the Staff in the end game credits. To fix the Seperate error, youd need to edit that string inside English.dat :) quite simple. I wouldnt be surprised if theres already a scripting fix out there for this already, many players are surely quite particular about these things hehe. Scripter4 tool (an easy GUI) can edit this issue, and also the one tomblover advised :) |
I have a bit of free time this morning, so I thought I'd update the script myself. Taken from the GOG version, I dont imagine it's any different to the original disk releases.
Have updated -SEPARATE, the correct spelling. -Added Golden Skull text value to, Race to the Iris. Tested and both appear as intended! :tmb: If there are any other text mistakes known of, just let me know and I'll fix it up if desired! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jj4...w?usp=drivesdk Replace both script.dat and English.dat into your game folder. Oops I did not mean to double post!! Brainfart my apologies |
Brilliant! :D It works beautifully - the skulls, and the separate. Thank you Mizuno!
* * * Just finished a full playthrough of TR4 and this patch is excellent Troye. Thank you for making my favorite TR so much more amazing. Here are the only bugs to report, but they may be sample/wad/tr4 file related so not sure if they can be fixed: The Sphinx Complex: Lara has the incorrect animation at the button switch in the warehouse where she gets the metal blade/shovel piece (as already mentioned). The Mastabas: The bats in this level are missing their sound effects. Khufu's Queen's Pyramids: The demigod boss at the end of the labyrinth was shooting Lara's thigh meshes at her. Temple of Horus: When Lara places the 4 Holy Scriptures on the 4 pedestals around the Horus statue she always says "No", even though she performs the task without any problems. This has been a bug in the vanilla version since day 1. Would be wonderful if it could be fixed so she doesn't keep saying "No". Thank you again for all your hard work on this! Now I'm moving on to replaying TR5 :D |

I don't want to sound ungrateful, I feel lucky people even use my patches tbh, but I don't have the ability to respond to every request everyone does without overwhelming myself, but as I said, I do read and consider them all, so please, be patient with me :v but yes, that and the skulls are a script issue, I can make a hardcoded fix but script is easier to edit- There is nothing I can do about the missing sound effects, or the demigod shooting butts, they are missing assets from the level file :/ other two will be fixed :) that said, I am gonna be busy with irl stuff for the next few weeks. I was hoping I could push a release for a few bug fixes/stuff before then but that doesn't look like it will be the case :[ |

I would say that the tr online community is fortunate to have you working on TR4/5 patches. Of course, please take all the time you need. ______________________ Edit: BTW I think it's really cool that you can see Lara holding binoculars in the mirror room! I was looking forward to seeing it since I read about it in the changelog. http://i.imgur.com/qV4G0d1m.png |

I was about to say, Woops may very well be able to override these text errors in their patcher, but they've since clarified simple script altering is the way to go. If TR5 happens to have the same Separate issue, I'm happy to fix that up for you too if needed, andthensome. |
Thank you Mizuno Suisei :D
Fortunately the spelling error was spotted and corrected by the time Chronicles was released :p |
Is it possible to add the missing holster straps in TR4 and TR5? :tea:

It's not that it's not fixable, it is that it's not fixable by code. This is an asset issue, which requires modding the levels (since the outfit is duplicated in every level), not a patch. :)
|
Quote:
-edit: fixed, thank you! @ the holsters, if one day we support custom asset injection, it'll be done with code :) |
I vaguely remember playing a fan patch once that fixed the holster bug (which Troye fixed now anyway) and also added the strap texture to Lara's thighs.
The only bug I encountered with it was at the start of Valley of the Kings, where the Guide slot doesn't have the correct meshswap for the gun in his hand, and instead had Lara's thigh. |
