Well, sorry for spoiling it for you guys but in the end it turns out that Sam is actually a man in drag who was so jealous of Lara that he came up with this very intricate way of torturing her. Lara finds strength to forgive Sam, so they kiss and drive into the sunset with Roth and Reyes in the backseat.
