The checkpoints could have been a safety precaution in case they died since they had such a limited amount of time. Still, I like frequent checkpoints, but I don't like seeing it on screen constantly.

Well, as you can clearly see there are still people who don't get the whole point of the reboot, new Lara and they won't accept the absence of Natla, Winston and the other characters. People are not complaining only here on TRF, I've read some bitchy comments on the internet too. If the people would shut up and stop complaining we might got new info a long time ago. They said there won't be anything new until the people will understand what TR is. Maybe that's the reason of the silence...idk. It's not the publisher who don't want to give away something, it's Crystal Dynamics :/
