:vlol: now that I think about it, it would be kinda funny to hear Lara swear in a cockney accent..

jhs270694 08-02-12 01:12

it sounds natural in a northern accent when you live up north england (im lancastrian i should know lol), i've been mistaken of having a yorkshire accent but it would sound hilarious in cockney but i know cockney and im 99% sure lara doesnt have that. I think the new lara has what is called a "received pronunciation" accent. look it up if ur really interested. its sort sounds posh but in a 'different' way which is hard to explain. alot of middle/upper class people have this accent. (its not the sort of accent which the queen speaks LOL)

i might be going of topic again but i couldn't resist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIemPxHSb6Q . this vid gives depth of the accent, plus the guy speaking speaks in with the RP accent. i havnt heard the new lara enough to distinguish what accent she really has, knowing her voice actress would help soo much *sigh*. London alone has so many different variety of accents alone it's that hard to tell. the diversity of accents in england is pretty overwhelming. i lived up north, moved down south in my childhood and people sounded like they were speaking a different language, its that different.

i have a family who live in surrey, but they dont really sound like they have cockney.

Very insightful. I took note of that. Before we never had a member that could speak on her accent or relate it in real life but atleast now we know it exists.

glad i could be of help :)

Yeah, it's likely really. The email/ Crystal fix could have been a coincidence planned anyway/as well as.

You could be right... if it was just part of the fix as usual, I don't think they would have highlighted that info was coming in February, because the fixes happen every month, right?

I know for 100% that M.M. said that the fun information is coming in the middle of February, which is not now yet. I just hope we're getting something TR related next week.

Stevo505 08-02-12 02:27

Someone tweet Meagan... we must know. :p

Lukass 08-02-12 02:29

But she also stated in the Fix something like "Until next time, get outside". Next time, means next month :-/

I think that's just another way of saying "see you in the next CD fix"

Lukass 08-02-12 02:34

I hope you're right. I don't want to wait till March really :-/ Or even longer as they said that they'll be presenting TOMB RAIDER at GDC behind closed doors.

larafan25 08-02-12 02:39

^They didn't say that, did they?

They said PAX behind closed doors, but I don't even think they're going to be doing TR stuff at GDC, they're hiring for the new IP there.

Lukass 08-02-12 02:43

Is there any gaming event between GDC and E3 then?

Does that mean we'll know what the new IP is by then?

larafan25 08-02-12 02:45

^I doubt it.

Ummm...

Well PAX is after E3, in August apparently, so it's odd that they're going behind closed doors...then...so so late.

Stevo505 08-02-12 02:47

Well if they're hiring at a gaming event then how are they going to make it so nobody knows what it is?

Lukass 08-02-12 02:47

When we are getting the VA announcement and gameplay trailer which are both supposed to be revealed in early 2012, then?

Good point, maybe they will just say it's a first person action adventure or whatever the genre will be.

IDK, if I knew we'd all be more excited. :p

They could, but who would wanna sign on for a game without any details. Unless they do it behind closed doors and have a non-disclosure agreement. But I don't know..

Lukass 08-02-12 02:50

Alright, so it's obvious we're not getting the trailer at GDC. So when? When? When? When? June is NOT early 2012 for **** sake!

Well GDC is really just for devs apparently, so whatever they do we probably won't see any of it.

They may throw us the gameplay trailer at GDC to distract us from other stuff they're doing...

/high hopes.

Have you ever wondered... maybe they're not promoting it that much on purpose? Like what if they want TR to fail (or just not do that well) so they can be able to work on new projects. Just a thought... It's not very likely, but yeah. lol

OMHYGAWD, if so then TR can fail and die and then be resurrected later by a company who makes giant and great open world RPG games.

Yes, perhaps.

Maybe they're getting sick of TR, I don't know... :p

This game isn't different enough for them to be getting sick of TR, they still like most of the generic and conventional TR ideas are using them, so for now I'll assume they like what they're doing.

I just hope that people stop approaching this game as the last nail in the coffin, and instead as the first ...game in a new series.

I hope that the game has good mechanics so that if the game is too short, too easy or not very complex, then CD can keep with the successful mechanics of this game, and simply harmonize them better in the next game.

I'm just so afraid that the game will not be fulfilling like most games seem to be right now (IMO).

Yeah... I want to finish the game and say "Wow... that was amazing" like I did for UC3. I want to be blown away but TBH idk... I know CD will try for that amazing experience and I hope it turns out well, but it's hard to be hopeful for that when the last 3 games have been rather "meh" upon completion.

I need something more than UC3, UC3 has multiplayer to give replay value, but if TR9 doesn't have that it needs more to keep me coming back.

TBH, most of the TR games I've played don't warrant much return for me, not even the classics.

The reason I go back to LBP is because the levels in the story mode are actually fun and accessible, but of course I can make my own levels too and play other levels online or do multiplayer.

But I don't think online modes or an editor is the only way, because Skyrim has me coming back for more and it has neither.

But I feel like a game that is just Uncharted 3 story mode, would be so non-re-playable to me. :/

I was watching the U3 gameplay videos today again. It's pretty amazing game!

It's amazing once, but on the second go you realize how restricted it feels.

Lukass 08-02-12 03:10

I especially loved the environment. I would love to see something like that in TOMB RAIDER.

larafan25 08-02-12 03:11

Graphics wise? Sure...

But that scene in the desert, where Nate is walking in the giant desert...

Is so linear, and you can't explore a bit. :/
