Well Ass Creed games are interactive open world games so of course the graphics will take a hit, especially since the franchise is also multi-platform.

I was just watching the E3 demo and some interview with Karl. Both Karl and Darrel said that the next thing they'll show is going to be the open environment and big spaces to explore. I'm so wondering how they're going to show us such thing without spoiling the game. I mean, I don't want to see a whole hub or 3/4 of it and not even half of it. Hope it's not going to be like with Underworld when they showed a whole level :/

TippingWater 12-05-12 00:00

:(

Weemanply109 12-05-12 00:00

I doubt it, they said they didn't want to show too much, IIRC.

Lukass 12-05-12 00:02

Doubt about what?

If they are showing open areas next it seems unlikely you would see a hub at all, sounds more like they would be showing the explorable areas between hubs. If you do not want the game spoiled that is easily solved, do not watch the new media. :mis:

I don't think I would be able not to watch it though :p

I doubt they'd show a whole area or too much for that matter.

On another note: I hope this game doesn't leak prior to release, I watched Underworld's ending before actually playing the game. It completely killed it. I have little self-control.

Rai 12-05-12 00:07

I would have thought it would be possible to give an idea of the open spaces and explorable areas without giving too much away. They're not going to show the whole island, just an example of what the open spaces look like, rather than a hub or enclosed space which has been shown. Showing off an environment doesn't reveal any story necessarily, but elements of game play, which is important. We've seen game play in an enclosed linear area, so it's good to see a contrast of that.

Weemanply109 12-05-12 00:08

True.

Hopefully they're not going to spoil the game in any way this time. I have faith :p

Yep, I was just wondering how they want to show a big space. If they showed the night hub, it would be nice. I'd be happy to see the leaked footage part of the game. From the base camp to the wolf's lair + the attack itself and then back to Roth.

Linoshi Croft 12-05-12 00:14

Remember they are showing combat also and that section does not showcase any combat out of QTEs.

larafan25 12-05-12 00:14

I'd love to see passing through two hubs.

Spong 12-05-12 00:16

^You mean like a pre-set flyby?

No, I'd like to see Lara pass through two hubs or separate areas.

Like how in the leaked footage we see the radio tower behind a cliff wall, I'd like to see the demo in which she gets the axe and travels over the wall to the tower.

Spong 12-05-12 00:21

I'd prefer some kind of cinematic camera work, just to give me a sense of the scale to a couple of the environments. There might be a few bits & bobs laying about - ledges and stuff, paths leading somewhere - that could be spotted and speculated about, but it wouldn't be as spoilerific as having actual gameplay footage where everything is pretty much laid bare.

That's true.

Yet even a short clip of Lara traveling through a small piece of an area left a lot of untraveled paths visible in the leaked video.

Though I doubt we'll be seeing paths of ledges up walls unless it's a ladder.

That is quite a good idea.

Hitman Absolution, Halo 4, Call of Duty BLOPS2, AssCreed 3, God of War: Ascension, DmC, Borderlands 2 etc etc.

jumper2009 12-05-12 03:17

It looks like a 2013 release now... so many games in October and November. And do think that they will release in december.

I meant content/information released for those games.

Does it matter?

We've seen gameplay for all of them already, prior to E3 and the developers have been actively releasing concept art and other media about the game.

So basically they have nothing that we do not already have? I think we probably have more for Tomb Raider than most of those other games anyway. Starting to release info earlier does not equate to getting more info than usual about the game. Just means there is longer for potential buyers to notice the game. We usually get the first gameplay footage at E3, we have already seen it and will be getting more in another month.

I highly doubt it. There's still time to release it in Fall 2012. Delay wouldn't help them at all.

If you would look at other year like Fall 2011 schedule then you would there are multiple games releasing each week specially in October, November.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_in_video_gaming

There will be lot more games to be announced at E3 and coming out before 2012 ends. We will know almost all 2012 titles release date within next 25 days. Watch out. :D

NYCL@R@ 12-05-12 07:24

Anyting new? Haven't been in here for a while.

scremanie 12-05-12 07:31

Nope, not until E3.

Trailer/pre-orders, Game Informer spread, trailer, gameplay trailer, multiplayer trailer, gameplay trailer/demos, 20 minutes demo etc. Happy?

scremanie 12-05-12 11:50

So, pretty much what we already have from Tomb Raider? Yah.

CGI trailer
A few screenshots from the same area (from two areas actually)
8 mins game play

Does that sound the same what Pietras stated?

Weemanply109 12-05-12 12:03

^Two posts above. :tmb:

Also, take note that those aforementioned games don't include one year silence as their marketing ploy.

And the Tomb Raider campaign never included a one year silence either, we were still getting magazine articles showing the second demo screenshots and info well after E3. And Tomb Raider has been in the media for other reasons as well so people hardly had a chance to forget the new game coming out. Tomb Raider was still appearing on magazine covers all though last year and this year. Although the articles this year might not have had anything that was new to us, it would have been new to someone. It was all gaining attention for the new game, which is what a marketing campaign is meant to do.

scremanie 12-05-12 12:33

We have gameplay videos, countless magazine articles, concepts, dozens of screenshots, a trailer, podcasts and a handful of information regarding the game. I'd say we have quite a bit. That's more than what we have from the games stated by Pietras.

So, no.

Lukass 12-05-12 12:49

We have gameplay video, not videos. The wolf's den wasn't revealed officially.
Countless magazine articles which are all about the same. (If there were 3-4 magazines that had truly exclusive content, it would be too much)
podcasts that tells us about coffee machine at Crystal Dynamics offices, pizzas etc.

So, yes.

I don't think we don't have enough. I'm happy with what we've got, I don't want them to spoil the game, but please don't tell me we have the same or even more info than the other games.

scremanie 12-05-12 12:50

There are two different gameplay videos, last time I checked.

We have barely any information regarding the games just revealed, except for maybe a trailer and some screenshots. Which Tomb Raider had over a year ago.

We used to get the game itself before another 12 months cycle. :p

Weemanply109 12-05-12 12:51

I haven't seen the other one you're talking about then.

Rai 12-05-12 12:56

There are two game videos. Both showing the same area. One's a short version of the den game play, the other is a longer version. We've seen screens of the den and the night hub, including a camp. The leaked video showed a village or buildings (presumably form the night hub). We weren't supposed to see that though (:p), so officially we've only seen gameplay in one area.

Alexander990 12-05-12 12:59

Not to mention in four years:)
