As someone who has never used dgVoodoo2 before (if memory serves me correctly), and considering i've been able to play the classics with both the fixes from the Multi Patch and the community open source modified engines without problems, may i know whether i should bother with it? After all, reading several posts here gives me the impression that it breaks things more than it fixes them.
I only use it to play in 3840x2160 - these games will crash if you attempt to run them in 4K without dgVoodoo |

I use it to fake fullscreen and allow alt-tab without crashing (my video card is a bit touchy about that on some old games) and I noticed intro videos of tomb5 don't always play without it. |
I had a game breaking bug in « city of the dead », I used the lever before pushing the body away from the trapdoor.
After that the trapdoor stayed close so I went back to the lever and it was unusable. Lara Croft just won’t use it no matter how many time I tried thé action button and reload the game. I don’t know if it’s linked to the new exe or not ! Also since I’m in Cairo, Lara won’t perform the pick up animation inside crawlspaces. The pickup does end up in inventory but Lara is just frozen for a few seconds instead of performing the animation. (This one is not a big deal but still) In the Citadel the rope in the beginning doesn’t burn all the way, just half way. That’s what I noticed so far, other than that I love it ! |
V2.2.0

Hi everyone :)
tomb4 v2.2.0 is out now! Full changelog here Remember to read the usage guide for help with installing, if you still have encounter difficulties after reading feel free to ask! This release brings some QoL bug fixes, both original and tomb4 bugs, including the bug that caused random fires to appear on the screen, and issues with switch interaction, and so on. on a more exciting note, The times level support is finally here! Picture attached. You may also notice the bars look bigger than usual, that's because a new option to scale bars has been added to the options menu! the size shown in the picture is the biggest possible size. Note on the times level: since it is a free public level (kinda like a TRLE!), the entire folder containing the level is included with this release, this is because, most resources I found online to download the times level only provide the original setup installer, which is extremely old, invasive, and incompatible with a lot of modern machines, so to run gold, simply download the archive and run the executable inside. Grab it here!! As always, enjoy, and all feedback is welcome! |
Thank you for providing The Times archive! I recently wanted to install it but realized that my modern OS can't even use that installer no matter what compatibility I set up. So I had to use a virtual machine for Windows XP to install it and extract the needed files.

Yes!!!!! Such a good news! |
"The times level" tests report:
"Tomb4.exe" from Github "The times level" archive are not the same version as the "tomb4.exe" archive. One has a compiled date at 9h03 and the second at 9h04. The one compiled at 9h04 crashes with DgVoodo but not the one provided in "Times" archive. So I will use the one from Times archive. One more thing: I have a message error at launch: "failed to load Bink, disabling FMV", click "OK" and the game start. If I put "binkw32.dll" file from my TR4TLR install in "The times level" folder install, the message error no more appearing. I don't think it's a necessary DLL for the "Times level" and after verifying, this file is not provided by the original program. |

And I cannot help you then. That message is harmless, I always have FMVs disabled so I forgot to remove it from the times exe, will fix that. Thanks! |
Congrats on the release and the times level support!
Would be interesting to know what was causing the random fire effects on screen. |
Good work Woops.
