I see it! :)

And honestly, I don't think that's Himiko.
Wasn't there this girl.. who was some kind of relative of Himiko in the game?
prrfffft. I can't remember :o

She was only mentioned in the Journals though.

I don't think it'd be the priestess who took her own life.. She was just a potential successor to Himiko.. And I doubt it's Sam..

Is it the same in the games and I'm just now noticing? Or are they dropping massive hints about Trinity?

I noticed that too, I mentioned it in the comic thread! Where did you find the picture of the symbol? I couldn't find one like that anywhere!

PhantomPain 18-02-14 22:45

This thing makes me think of Tomb Raider II.

Evan C. 18-02-14 22:55

^ Because the comic it's the bridge between the last and next games. Gail is working along with Crystal, this is not a "do whatever you wish" because it's a comic, and considering Gail Simone interview I have faith that it will be pretty interesting.

Valentino 18-02-14 23:07

Does she have a different face in all of these comics :o Are any of them even released? I do like they used the CGI render face (even though theres like 2 or 3 different versions) the axe could use some detail though :o

irishhips 18-02-14 23:18

Made an render based on that cover :)

Definitely agree there. That image you quoted just shows how dark Lara's hair is now in comparison to the reddish tone. I prefer the chestnut brown over the more maroon used in AoD and the TRU doppel, but Lara's hair should be lighter with coppery tones. Coppery tones can look just gorgeous in certain lighting. Just imagine what coppery coloured TressFX hair could look with sun shining though it. And this coming from someone who prefers to stay out of hair discussions usually :p.

I agree, it would look so much more beautiful and original if it wasn't just really dark brown, and went back to Lara's origins.

Sorry, but, what the hell is she still doing with those weapons? Shouldn't she be using pistols now? I do like the bow and the pickaxe, but still...

Zebra 19-02-14 11:33

OMG! I LOVE that issue 5 cover! I want it as a poster :jmp:!

klona 19-02-14 14:01

The cover is amazing!
ugggh
i really want to see the duals on her, they fit so much.

Lukass 19-02-14 14:43

I'd like it more if there wasn't the Queen or is it Hoshi? Anyway, it looks like a painting in a fairy tale book for little kids.

yansazonov 19-02-14 17:58

"Queen" looks like Sam!

motoleo 19-02-14 18:03

I love the clothes., but when dem dualies coming back?

Put down that pick axe thingz

PhantomPain 19-02-14 19:06

Does that Trinity thing actually mean something? I remember a mysterious symbol appearing everywhere on the official site before the release, but it turned out to be... nothing. :o

Advanced Imaging... it still flashes in the game's menus and when you upgrade your gear. I bet it has some significance in the next game or the comics.

Mikky 22-02-14 02:50

After she falls off her parachute, there's an alternative cutscene. I wonder how he managed to do that.

scremanie 22-02-14 02:59

I feel like that one is better.

If there was the view of Shantytown at the end too, then I would have agreed, yeah.

It's a shame neither explain how her parachute straps magically disappear, though.

just*raidin*tomb 22-02-14 15:11

That is so weiRD.

I feel like that one conveys that she is badly hurt much more clearly.

larafan25 22-02-14 15:39

wowowowo

that AOD-ish music at 3:00

yansazonov 22-02-14 18:50

Scene if effin great!!!
Why CD reject more realistic (unfinished) to a hollywood action movie scenes?
I mean that blurring view, this wound-touch & curse (i assume) word after...:hea: I can even see her wet wound...
It would've been out of context to a hollywood, but its sooo truthful & brings life to Lara!!

Stop doing homage to cliche action movies and do more real-life stuff!
(Though i doubt that they would...its just cultural differences..)

larafan25 22-02-14 18:52

i really think the old scene is just... tighter tbh, and perhaps better cinematography.

HeavyGagaLover 22-02-14 20:43

Wow, that cutscene was so cool! How did he do that?
I wished the audio got synced too :(

Edit: Maybe you've seen it, but he has posted some demo versions of the games also. Like here, you can see that the very end is a little different. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1oMdvNGEt4

Double Edit: He even got some deleted conversations... damn. This was a bit annoying though haha. But it's obviously from the Endurance flashback that got deleted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxKaDuslfMg

trfanX34 22-02-14 21:10

^ Maybe there was a prologue level in the Endurance during the wreck. If that's it I wish it had made it into the final game ;-;

larafan25 22-02-14 21:13

There was, it wasn't a prologue though ,it was a playable flashback,.

Ya can see footage from it in the Final Hours app

Here it is:

trfanX34 22-02-14 21:18

^ Oh, yeah I had already seen that, I didn't remember it tho.
Well there should have been a prologue in the Endurance :<

HeavyGagaLover 22-02-14 21:19

The conversation was probably from the flashback.
But it was supposed to be a prologue too I think. Not sure if they even came far enough to make a beta version of it, or if they just had an idea of it.

larafan25 22-02-14 21:20

I'd have loved for the game to start slowly, with some nice, easy fetchy-missions which taught you the controls. Exploring the Endurance.

Then the storms comes and ****. but whatevsiez.

That would've been sooooooo nice :<

HeavyGagaLover 22-02-14 21:23

Yes, that would have been so cool! I really wished they did that.
They said somewhere that they didn't want to make the shipwreck/storm part playable, when they already had such a good CGI trailer.

That post should be marked ©Spong 2011 :pi:
I kept saying that during the run up to release, that the game should've had a prologue level set on the Endurance that would've doubled as a stage-setter for the story and a tutorial. It could've been the game's Croft Manor.

Lukass 22-02-14 22:07

It would remind me of Underworld proloque which I probably wouldn't like.

larafan25 22-02-14 22:10

If it's linear then yeah. But if it's a ship you can freely explore and speak with NPC characters, then it wouldn't feel like the TRU prologue, which was a linear exhibition of Underworld's not-the-best ledge-hopping.

As well as being a prologue it could've been treated as a standalone level that could be replayed separately (from the title screen) as you progress further into the game, granting access to new areas of the ship as you gain items & abilities.

The only problem is that it somewhat smashes the flow of their precious story.

Yeah. It definitely would've made us build up more of a connection to the characters and made their deaths actually mean something to us. They also should've kept the Lost Fleet story and let the whole Yamatai plot come as a surprise later on. That way the story wouldn't have felt as empty and predictable. But yeah, if we were gonna list all the things they should've done with the story, we'd be busy for a few days :p.

Lukass 22-02-14 22:51

That prologue video looks exactly like the TRU one. Explosions, Lara escaping through strictly linear corridor *shrugs*

I wouldn't mind a short prologue with Croft Manor or wherever she does live now. We could explore the house, go to gym to learn moves and after certain point we'd get infront of the large main gate of the house (like in the classics) and Lara would get a call from Roth if she want to join the Endurance. That would be just great.
