^Effect? Surely you mean effort?
But yeah, you're right, it looks pretty poor.

Phlip 21-01-13 22:11

I'm in shock that that controller is official. SHOCK.

Mikky 21-01-13 22:14

It's like they just put a TR sticker on the controller and said, "Yep, that should do. Now lets charge 40+ quid for it".

Noooo, CD. No.

I need to pre-order the LE guide asap btw :D

So that PS3 controller really is official.

*sigh* It's like no effort has gone into it.

Eww... that PS3 controller.

TippingWater 21-01-13 22:19

Still fantastic after all this time :D.

MangelinaJolie 21-01-13 22:20

^ Thanks for reminding me how heartbroken I am over that track not being used. :(

Talking about soundtacks, I was just listening to this...

Even older and even more awesome. ;__;

I always prefered the TR3 theme, but boy, does this bring back memories. Feels like I haven't played TR1 in forever :p (three years, I think, maybe more D: ).

They all look like different women to me.

Oh, btw, peeps, that PS3 controller lights up. You know, like a children's toy. LOL. I should get one for my baby nephew. :D

Of course they look like different women, they are :p...but I can see similarities too.

Well, yes, okay, I may be saying it's unfair there isn't a Portuguese VA. Maybe TR is really popular in Poland and other countries that might speak Polish?

I had the same question  .

I decided not to ask because I thought people might misunderstand me but since I'm not alone :p ...

I guess TR must be reaaally popular in Poland. That being said, the game should have been translated to Arabic and Chinese. I mean these two are out of the "big" languages, how come they let them out? (same goes for Russian but I think that it was translated in Russian) .

Completely agree! Polish is such a random language, really. Are there even that many Polish TR fans, anyway? It's not such a big deal, but it's a bit weird. Like, the requests for Portuguese voice acting has been far greater. :pi:

LNSNHGTDS 21-01-13 23:25

In my opinion, if they were to translate the game in multiple languages they should have taken care of French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic and then whatever other language they wanted.

Nothing against German but I just consider "major" languages only the official UN ones. I mean there's a reason that only those six are the UN's official languages.

Yeah, Arabic and Chinese are pretty big languages, maybe TR is not really popular around those places. Yeah, Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish are the only ones who have full audio support. Then, there are subtitles for those plus Traditional Chinese, Dutch, Korean , Czech and.... Brazilian Portuguese ;_; I guess I shouldn't complain about it being Brazilian Portuguese, at least there are subtitles in a variation of my native language.

Definitely, it's really random, I don't know what CD's decision to include a Polish VA came from. And I don't doubt that, really :pi:

I really hope Japanese audio is not for the Japanese release of the game only :/ !

Set the sound on Japanese and subtitles in Chinese or Korean would be a killer :vlol: .

Also, there's a difference between Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese... Portuguese, I had no idea :o !

Yeah, I also thought about that, wasn't a trailer posted here that had someone talking as Lara in Japanese?

Yeah, it's pretty much like British English and American English. :p

I think I think there differences similar to differences between British and American English. Probably the same applies to Castilian Spanish and Mexican Spanish.

Yes, but, seeing that it was available only in the Japanese Square Enix chanel I figured it would be regional only, like it was in Legend with some other languages.

Oh, I see :p .

I find it's just small tweaks to spelling and pronouciation. Kinda like British English and American English. Although, I have to say that I haven't studied that much on the subject, so I could be wrong. :p

Beaten to it. I should spent less time composing my posts. :pi:

Italian is not that big of a language either, yet countless games has it as an option.

I know, I never really realised why but Italian and German are usually included.

What exactly bothers you guys? Maybe that there are only a few voice actresses officially announced for now? And that's what Crystal Dynamics and SquareEnix wanted to share with us? Tomb Raider for the first time will have Polish dubbing, even if it's good or bad, because why not?
I'm confused right now and I don't understand what do you mean... Because if you guys really think that there will be no other translations than those few, think again, this time maybe harder?

Mikky 21-01-13 23:58

Polish fan is pressed.

But really, we meant no disrespect. Chill.

Phlip 22-01-13 00:07

I wonder if Karl will still be the community manager for TR10. He's a bit of a legend among the gaming community (for the wrong reasons), I think. XD

Mikky 22-01-13 00:08

I thought Meagan had the title of Community Manager?

Phlip 22-01-13 00:09

I think so, but karl seems to talk to more people.

Mikky 22-01-13 00:13

As nommy as he is, it would be nice to see less of him. He uses a lot of "rinse and repeat" tactics in interviews, which gets really annoying after a while. :/

Linoshi Croft 22-01-13 00:16

Alison Carroll was the worst for that...

Oh no, no guys! It's fine really! I don't feel offended. Not at all. I actually hate Polish dubbings (except only a few disney's classic movies), and I will play the original copy. But you're writing about almost 40 million people nation, you know? Lara's first Polish voice it's a big thing here, and also a pretty big advertisement. Poles will buy this game from curiosity. It's just old, good marketing...

Karl is the Global Brand Director for CD/SE and Meagan is the Community Manager for CD

As I clearly said in my post "I'm really glad they have someone talking as Lara in their language" and "I mean no offense to polish people", because I knew my words would be misunderstood. It doesn't bother me that there is a Polish VA. It bothers me there isn't, say, a Portuguese one, since we're 240 million total speakers (and both Brazil and Portugal have a lot of TR fans, Mozambique and Angola not so much). I just wanted to understand their reasoning, you have to admit it was a bit odd that they chose Polish as one of the languages. And I don't think I or the others deserved that sarcastic remark on the last sentence.

That's why I will help you to understand. Cenega decided about TR's dubbing, not Square Enix. They just accepted the whole idea.
And I will not admit that it's odd my friend, because it's not. Dubbing in Poland is very frequent.

So that PS3 controller really is official.

*sigh* It's like no effort has gone into it.

I don't think that's legit, tbh. They're missing the artbook and the Play Arts Kai figurine and probably a few more that I'm forgetting.

Where'd the image come from anyway?
