We like figured that out ages ago! We TR fans are so smart! :D

I want to see that trailer they were talking about, I like seeing the different stages of development.

He took an early trailer of the game to the company's office in London and showed it off. It reveals a very different version of the young Lara on an island setting, riding a horse across a beach, fleeing a crashing aircraft and battling mythological monsters – all with a voice over introducing the origins concept: "I'm not perfect, I'm not bullet-proof. I bleed…". When the video ends, Gallagher says, "I think we nailed it". The project was instantly green lit.

Was looking for those leaked photos of the early Tomb raider reboot and found this.

If it is real how could someone already have it?

That would most likely be people who have connections to Crystal or Square or who work/know someone who works at a retailer who already has the game (not sure if any copies have been sent out to retailers yet).

new interview

princebenidere 14-02-13 06:04

I love the old concept and i made it my new avatar

i wish they use the short hair instead, it would make more easier to animate and there would be no billion threads about her hair in TRF

nothing we can do now, :o

She's rude on the right one, very boyish. I guess that's also cause of injuries and dirt they added to face. Although she looks totally different in rendered and gameplay versions.

http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpr...lara_thumb.jpg

What I dislike in left one is her dumb facial expression, lack of character. It's like she's posing for photographer or something. Classics Lara was never that beautiful, she was unique.(character wise) They should have had kept hair, It's too heavy and glued from front in the actual game.

You know, that's an artwork ...

I think she really looks like the real Lara on the old one :jmp: I like the new one, but the old one is 90% better.

I am happy with the way crystal made Lara, they got everything from past games and updated them perfectly. That pic is flawless. And the in game model is just as good imo. My tummy hurts in anticipation for this game!!

This weapon pack sounds cool. Two Square Enix worlds collide :p

I definitely like her new/final concept art much more than the previous one. It's closer to her in-game model face and she is less boyish looking.

People! This is not a new render :o

If I've understood correctly, this ''new'' concept art we're seeing is the early concept art that Crystal Dynamics presented to, Square Enix I suppose, in the hopes they would greenlight the idea of the TReboot. The boyish-looking render of Lara is the more recent one, even though the only thing different is the face; the body is identical. I too find myself slightly preferential towards the early Lara's face, but it's just concept art anyway.

The "old" one looks a lot more like the Lara in the Turning Point trailer and all the newer renders though. Especially the 360 face render we received this week. None of the renders that followed the GI cover reveal resemble that render face-wise in my opinion.

What I mean by the "old" one is the one on the left that everyone thinks is old, but that I think is the new and final version.

But if what you say were true then why would they label this artwork as the final one? It seems to be that this artwork is the final version of Lara hence why it matches what she actually looks like in every media form of her we've seen.

It's the final concept (ie prototype).
Once a concept is green-lit you start developing the actual model, which overtakes and leaves the concept behind.

This was what they had to propose back when the TReboot was just an idea. That concept art was later replaced by another concept art (I remember seeing the body with yet another face, which looked concept art-y, rather than the one we have now with the boyish look).

TippingWater 14-02-13 10:16

But she looks so much better in the "Final version" :o.

I still feel the one on the left is the new final version of her.

This:

looks nothing like this:

But compare this to the face above from the Turning Point trailer:

Yes, that I know. But the one that we got a couple years back was also a concept. So since the final concept matches in-game Lara way more then the first concept we got, it would only make sense that it is "newer" than the one we initially got.

Tonyrobinson 14-02-13 12:01

Reviews are a long way off yet. I would expect the week prior to release is when we will get the reviews that way magazine issues will be able to release them at the same time and take advantage of the first week in March release date. :)

Hopefully. I do look forward to a good tr game tbh. LCGoL showed that CD had potential, so I'm hoping they put priority on gameplay the most instead of mostly cinematic. It is a video game after all.

hayden 14-02-13 12:37

I'm not the one constantly posting my unwanted and disrespectful opinion everywhere.
So there is clearly no reason as to why I should leave :D

Shark_Blade 14-02-13 12:44

Like I said, the truth is not all white and fluffy. Everyone have different opinions and expectation.

I asked for reviews. There's still none.

Why would there be any yet? Anyone who plays games would know there wouldn't be for a long while yet..

Shark_Blade 14-02-13 12:53

That defeats the point of reviews then. Shouldn't it normally be out before game releases? LCGoL had it before release as I remember it got good/even perfect scores. Pretty sure other games are like that too.

I think some companies hold reviews until a little after release date like RE6, which is a shady practice to get more sales.
