God of War director Cory Barlog is hoping to breathe new life into Lara Croft, as Square Enix studio Crystal Dynamics has just revealed that the industry veteran has joined its development team.

Barlog and the rest of the San Francisco-based studio will be working on a new Tomb Raider in addition to a "yet to be announced new title."

Barlog is best known for his work on Sony's God of War franchise. Following David Jaffe, Barlog served as writer/director for God of War 2, creative director for Chains of Olympus and he led story creation for Ghost of Sparta.

Isn't that old news? He's the one that was hired a while ago to work on the games camera?

Barlog is best known for his fine work as writer and director on God of War 2 at Sony's Santa Monica Studio. He also served as creative director on Ready At Dawn's PSP titles God of War: Chains of Olympus and headed up writing duty on Ghost of Sparta.

This is definitely a good thing in my eyes. I didn't notice if it said what he is working on in the game, so I am curious. :D

I think I heard this a while back nice for his involvement though. :)
